My in-laws are all from PA, and every single one of them states this as a fact. Some are Republican, most are Democrats, but they don't disagree on this.

Personally, I'm not sure if it matters...if they had to shoot it down, they had to. And it doesn't take anything away from the passengers that fought back in-flight.

If you compare the official military writeup of McCain's shoot down incident with his own story, you'll see that they aren't even consistent.

One version: He was hit by a missile after dropping his ordinance, resulting in the crash. The other: He was hit by a missile and damaged, dropped his ordinance, and couldn't pull up. I'm pretty sure there are 2 or 3 other versions as well.

My theory: he f*cked up by going into too steep of a dive to drop his ordinance and couldn't pull up, so had to eject, and no missile ever hit him. It was a cover story to protect his dignity, hence the disrepancies.

He already had a record as a sh*tty pilot afterall.

I'm south of Pittsburgh, 93 flew damned near over my house on its wacky path before crashing up in the mountains. I've seen the flight path, listened to ATC tapes, looked at every piece of evidence I could find, and I see no reason to believe that it was shot down. But I also can't conclusively say that it wasn't, and under the circumstances I could see the government possibly making the call to do so. My guess is the assholes just ran it into the ground when the passengers were closing in on them.

It was shot down or it blew up mid air.If they shot it down, than I am glad that at east one thing went right that day. If I was on that plane and knew what had already happened that day, I would be ok with plane being shot down. It's not really a conspiracy theory to think that the plane was shot down. It was the proper thing to do given the circumstances. I applaud them for doing it.

The difference for most people is that Obama admitted that he used drugs (even wrote about it in his book).

That's the joke... you see, as a Cubs fan, it doesn't matter if it is half full or half empty, the worst possible thing that could happen (it getting knocked over) is what Cubs fans are used to after watching them fail to get in the World Series in over 60 years and not get a World Series win in 100 years. Why wouldn't they release all but the last minute or so of the recording unless they had something to hide? It's not like you would hear everybody screaming in pain, I'm sure they were killed instantly.

The main reason I think they shot it down is that they obviously lied about one thing. The military will admit that they scrambled jets to intercept the plane. It is a fact that the jets were seen in the air at least 26 minutes before the plane went down, 10 minutes from the location of the crash site. But the military claims they never even got within visual range of the plane before it crashed. Do you believe they couldn't make a 10 minute trip in 26 minutes? What did they do for all that extra time? Fly around in circles for 16 minutes waiting for the plane to come to them?
