PacManDreaming: If you saw him giving speeches back when he was governor, he spoke as well as Obama does. Now, he sounds like his speeches were originally written in English, translated to Korean and back to English using Babelfish.

Same sentence...English to Korean to English:

When he is the governor, this him of you lectures after sees and only Obama where in case, he says knows. Now, he in the Korean language and Babelfish his speech together original writes in English which faces each other English etc., he uses and the sound to translate is born.

A vote for McCain/Palin is a vote for religious totalitarianism.
Bush/Cheney have done their part in making "The Handmaid's Tale" reality.
It's time for McCain/Palin to finish the job and eliminate freedom as we know it.

4.6/10

'The Handmaid's Tale' line was a little esoteric for a really good troll. '1984' is more well known. Also, put some more emotion into it next time.

There's really not much Obama can do about the liberal media continually trying to make McCain look bad while trying to make Obama look foolish. It's as if he's surrounded by a bunch of bullies who constantly poke and prod at him and call him names, and as soon as he says anything back, they all scream "OMG! Did you see what he did?! He's in for it now!"

Giving the gobs of money Obama is reported to be bringing in and living in a supposed swing state (CO), I do wonder why the hell McCain appears to be out-advertising him? It seems like that for every 1 Obama ad I see on the television, there are 3-4 McCain ads.

When is he going to start spending some of that money??

2008-09-10 01:27:24 PM
DeltaXi65: Diogenes: After the sexing up kids ad and this lipstick flap, I really want Obama to bring the pain.

And he'll do it with the intelligence and class McCain and Palin could never muster.

I doubt it. He's not that kind of guy. He's never good as an attacker, no matter how 'classy'. He didn't do well attacking Hillary, and he won't do well attacking McCain and Palin. He has said over and over again that he wants to change politics, and that he has decried Karl Rove style gimmicks.

As a result, he's boxed himself into a corner. If he takes the bait and goes after them hardcore, he's going to be charged with flip-flopping on his not wanting to attack Rove-style and end the 'silly season' in politics. If he doesn't go after them at all, or only goes after them in an way marked with "intelligence and class", he's going to deflate his base, cede the argument to them, and you'll see more Friedman articles out there saying he's too cold.

His answer at the press conference this morning is telling - he recognizes that if he came out and apologized, he'd piss off a lot of people and demoralize the base yet again. But by not apologizing, he's going to fire up Republicans and spin this story out during this news cycle for another 24 hours - hell, it could last until the end of the week.

He's between a rock and a hard place and there's really no easy way out.

The way out is to get OUTRAGED by the tactics used by the right. He needs to show anger about the tactics that are being used against him, and segue back into his message about change.

Tom_Slick: sigdiamond2000: Meanwhile, for months, the polls have show McCain and Obama to be at a virtual statistical dead heat.

And besides unless you live in Florida or Ohio, your vote doesn't really count. Those 2 states are the only non Live Boy/Dead Girl states left.

Obama needs neither to win.

God, maybe we can take at least a "SHORT" break from political crap? Honestly, its gotten quite old and I'm sure isnt really helping draw more people to FARK.

Who cares. McCain is an ancient hothead and Palin's a religious nutjob. In short, their perfect for the U.S.A. Go Team!

Keep up the good work Republicans. Your efforts to destroy America are working.

FTA: In a way, I would love to hear Obama say, just for shock value: "I am so eager to do whatever it takes to fix these problems that I am ready to be a one-term president. Mine will not be a presidency that is confined to the first 100 days. But that is what we have fallen into, folks. The first 100 days have become the only 100 days. Once they are over, presidents are told that they have to trim their sails to get ready for the midterm elections, and once the midterms are over they are told that they have to trim their sails and get ready for the next presidential election. We can't solve our problems with a government of 100 days. I am going to work the hard problems the hard way for 1,461 days."

Coming from Obama this would be just too much. Since, you know, he started campaigning for President almost immediately following the midterm elections. I agree this crap is silly. We don't need perpetual campaigning going on.

2008-09-10 01:30:03 PM
Actually, a big chunk of Obama's problem is that a sizable portion of this country will never vote for anyone that isn't right of center, thanks to the decades of indoctrination from the media.

Obama lost more than he won from March to June, and he used the same strategy from June to September. Is it any wonder that he's losing?

Obama is a spineless jellyfish. That's his big problem.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, stood up for what she believed in. She also had the people on her side that won two Presidential elections.

Obama, frankly, is the George W. Bush of the Democratic party. he's an intellectual lightweight. He's too timid. He's not willing to stand up for his beliefs.

Americans are mad, and they will vote for the candidate who feels their pain and their anger, and that candidate is John McCain.

Obama doesn't mention the housing crisis. He barely mentions health care. Obama doesn't have much to offer on dinner table issues. In fact, Obama wants to raise gas prices, raise your bills, and raise your taxes.

1. Thomas Friedman is an insufferable douchebag, and his books are good for target practice and kindling. Even though he pretends to be fair, he is just an MSM shill.

2. Obama's main problem is that people have finally seen the depth of his extremism. For most people, it is not even that he is Muslim, it is that he lied about it for so long. He did finally admit it a couple days ago on live TV, SUCK IT LIBS! - Link - Obama admits to his Muslim faith after years of lies (pops - new window)

Jaboobinator: There's no way he'll apologize, and nor should he. He has nothing to apologize for.

Jaboobinator: it's clear that Obama wasn't talking about Palin. The whole thing is just BS.

I disagree. Palin took ownership of "lipstick" in her acceptance speech and her use of the pitbull/lipstick image has been in the news literally every day. Even if Obama didn't intend to evoke Palin with the lipstick/pig comment, the connection was and is obvious. Watch the clip. The crowd reacts. They got the connection.

Regardless of whether Obama is "cool" or "cold", at least he is not a coward.

Why do John McCain and Sarah Palin continue to dodge the press? Why is the GOP so afraid of them taking actual questions from actual reporters? Why do they continue to hide their candidates behind surrogates?

Fail. Much of the US electorate has shown quite convincingly that they don't respond to intelligence and class. They like pandering. They like to elect people they want to have a beer with. Forget silly things like knowledge and intellect. Break out the pander bear!

Maybe the Democrats should offer a Black History month to pander to black voters....what...wait...they did...Maybe a Black History Season.....that's it...not like any other minorities deserve one (Native Americans).

This seems to be the tack that he's taking right now, but it doesn't appear to be working. Now the story is his defiance. It's still top story on Drudge, and all the networks are still talking about it.

The segue will be into "if this was an honest mistake, why so defensive?" not into the change message.

Because Obama fully meant the connotation of the pig comment. The crowd understood what he meant when he said it, and reacted to it as an attack on Palin. Obama just got called on it, and I think he'd rather it go away before the classless statement goes out before all of America and not just the political junkies.

YouTube is blocked at my work. Is this the clip where he says "McCain hasn't said anything about my Muslim faith"? Because if that's the one you're talking about, it's BS.

He was saying that McCain has not accused him of being of Muslim faith as a lot of other people have. The reporter tripped him up by saying "You mean Catholic faith".
