The house later regretted its actions, and has been arraigned awaiting trial. The house's bail has been set to $300K with 5.88% fixed rate interest over a 30 year period. The house declined the option to pay in accelerated payments.

Cops have no foundation for their actions.

"After surrounding the house for more than eight hours, police early today broke in and found it empty, Chomiak said."

Takes them eight hours to end a situation with an empty house, but only five seconds to decide to tase your ass. One guy with a gun, and they need eight hours to resolve it. Sounds less like SWAT, and more like GRAFT.

This happened to me about 5 months ago when I was trying to get some chili-cheese dogs. Some a**hole was running from the cops and he just happened to hole up across the street from Der Wienerschnitzel so guess which business was "closed for safety." Tell you what...I'll chance the ricochet to get a dog. I had to wait 5 hours!!!!to get a dog!

This whole incident likely had something to do with police overtime. A similar thing happened around the corner. It was a domestic dispute. There was a guy in the house, and the wife called the cops. It was 5 p.m. on a Friday night The whole street was taken over by swat teams, people were evacuated to the closest intersection. Old ladies, young kids. It went on for hours. I started inviting people up into my yard. My wife went to store and got a half-ton of hot dogs, and we threw an impromtu neighborhood party. It got cold, I built a campfire.

The police walked around with guns and yelled at the guy in the house with a bull horn. At mid-night, the police just left. The neighbors, all went home, and no shots were fired.

The next morning, I saw the husband in front of his house watering flowers. "You aren't in jail?" I asked, "What the hell happened?"

Nothing. It was just 60 cops getting double-double triple OVERTIME, and a great inconvenience to over 100 neighbors. No cop ever approached the house to assess the situation Mind blowing. PL

Aren't we jumping to conclusions? Maybe they weren't very good at surrounding the house.

2008-09-09 09:03:27 PM
The house is lucky they didn't shoot the hell out of it and plant a gun and drugs on it.

What a great way to deal with a suicidal person. Surround their house for eight hours like they are a goddamn rapist or something. Farking pigs suck.
