PETA is and will continue to be necessary until those of us in allegedly 'civilized' nations wake up to the horrors of corporate farming. I support PETA's guerilla advertising tactics.

Mass production has numbed us to the fact that we treat our livestock horribly.
No matter how you spin it allowing animals to suffer...and suffer...and suffer SUCKS.

these chicks are way to cute and hot to be peta members, Peta members have sharp knees and are ugly.

peta must've hired these chicks because they look like they belong in lesbian porn!

maybe they are including the water to feed said animal?

jerry2a: I may just have to rethink my opinion on PETA after this....

...OK, I've thought about it...they're still a little nutty.

Basically, most PETA (PeTA?) members are equal parts idealist, attention whore, and fanatic. I admire many members' compassion, but if they moderated a bit they'd realize that a lot of their extremism causes more problems.

God Is My Co-Pirate: CarrieWhite: It's like a room full of straight guys when a gay guy walks in.. They'll all rush to exert their sexuality for the sake of keeping up appearances.

Seems its the same with the rugged meat eating folk. Wouldn't want anyone to think you might dabble in the lentils once in awhile.

But have you ever had lentils or anything cooked with bacon? Because that is just delicious.

They weren't actually nude, and they had a curtain around them? PETA sucks these days. They aren't really willing to commit to the cause, amymore. Hell, I saw not-nude girls showering together during the diving competition at the Olympics.

If you don't love animals enough to show a little boob, STFU. I am going to eat a hamburger tonight just because you slackers got no heart.

while yeah alot of peta is a bunch of angry alienated leftists and weirdos, there are a lot of good folks there doing good work.

those "meet your meat" videos are something everyone should see.

the chinese fur ones are even worse. ever seen a raccoon skinned alive and sitting up after its had its skin removed? so some kid can have a fur trimmed miley cirus coat for $4 from target? its just unspeakable, some of that, and its so unnecessary.

Bacchus-ette: Until you find out it's a PETA protest.

Eh, depends whether you want to marry 'em or just fark their brains out. With hot PETA chicks, the latter doesn't take as long or as much effort. Plus, you can make sure they'll go home in the morning by cooking some bacon for breakfast.

And I suppose if two guys set up a partition next to theirs (to stop people walking by from seeing that they were nude, only of course you would know they were nude because of the clearly visible and disgusting nude shoulders), peeked over the top at them and started whacking off, they would get into all kinds of trouble.

Pfffft.

Yeah, I could live off of lentils, IF I ATE 7.5 LBS/DAY!!!

I'd have to do nothing but eat lentils. And crap. Lots.

I'd use lots of water flushing the can if I ate that much.

Yeah, I'm a big guy. Yeah, I do manual labor. Yeah, I eat meat. I eat meat because IT WORKS.

Cats, rabbits, cane toads etc. Introduced species that thrive in a habitat lacking their natural enemies. It's maddening to see our beautiful natural fauna dying as a result.

No, I haven't had meat for 15 years. I do have a sense of humour though, but also a great respect for animals. I know there are meat-eating folk who do too. It's just many distance themselves from the origins of that steak.

Quick!! Someone photoshop Palin's head on those chicks and then send it to CNN! They'll post any picture!

FTFA: PETA claims that processing 1 lb. of meat uses the equivalent amount of water for six months of showers.

The water used in processing the meat will eventually evaporate into the atmosphere, where it will come back down as rain, trickle down a mountain into a stream, ending up in a reservoir somewhere, where we can use it again. "Preserving" water is bullshiat. We are essentially drinking the same water that dinosaurs peed out millions of years ago. It all gets recycled.

So these two girls are pretty much showering in public for no real good reason. Which I have no problem with. Carry on, cute college dummies! I'll be in my bunk.

/Saving and or recycling trees is also bullshiat. They are an easily renewable resource. The vast majority of trees used come from tree farms WHERE THEY GROW BRAND NEW TREES FOR THE ONES THEY CUT DOWN SO THAT THEY CAN CONTINUE TO MAKE A PROFIT.

No, mass production plus cute cartoon animals has made us lose sight of the fact that life is sometimes brutish, and nasty. Go back a number of years, when their was livestock raised around the corner from everyone's home, and most people would understand that you have to kill a living creature to get some bacon, chicken cacciatore, or a decent steak.

Now a days it comes in little cubes in plastic wrapped trays, and no concept of what it once was. So when snowflake grows up enough to "understand" that the food he eats was once a Bambi, a Kermit, an Elsie, or a Babe, he just goes off the deep-end.

Oh, and there's the bonus of all the attention whoring, and smug self satisfaction.

/Eat or don't eat whatever you want, just shut the fark up about what I eat, mkay?

Yellowbeard: TheGreyPiper: "PETA claims that processing 1 lb. of meat uses the equivalent amount of water for six months of showers."

Crock o' shiat.

They may be including the water used to feed the animal as well, plus other associated water usage. However, it still seems rather far fetched.

Well, actually, no. Deer screw like bunnies and, especially in the Midwest and Appalachians, they HAVE to hunt them to thin out the herds or they'd be in your favourite chair with the remote and demanding salads.

I'm not FOR the practices that industrial farming uses, nor am I ignorant of the fact that we're using to many resources to create easily distributable meat products, but people just aren't going to flip their diets, 180 Deg. in the face of abundance.
