SherKhan: MIguy: McCain was aware of this before selecting her as VP according to all the news stories.

Of course they inform the father first.

Howie Spankowitz: Well, according to Mommy, abstinence only education is the best way to keep this from happening and she wants to impose that on everyone else.

I disagree with (and even loathe) Palin's (and the extreme right's) views on abstinence and abortion. This IS ironic and a bit amusing, but I fail to see why everyone has been frothing over this like rabid dogs.

At this point, what was turning into an intriguing election has turned into a bad Lifetime movie, and it sickens me.

Well it's Alaska, what else is there to do?

2008-09-01 12:58:11 PM
"...is going to keep the child and marry the father"

Read as: 'Child, if you do not marry my daughter, they will never find your body.'

2008-09-01 12:58:12 PM
Haha! Noe the poor thing has to get married in order to support her mother's political aspirations!

I bet that was an awkward conversation.

Etchy333: Remove all Republicans: For the good of the country, he should step aside and publicly support Obama.

Dude, I'm all for Obama, but can we at least PRETEND to have a vote?

We do have a vote. You can vote for him, or you can not vote. There's also McKinney and some other third-parties (which aren't in every state like Obama is), so there's still options. Either way, that saves us from the possibility of a McCain presidency and the Democrats can really put his money to good use. Win-win for everyone.

2008-09-01 12:58:17 PM
Oh, and by the way, if her kids are this out of control now, just wait until she's been out on the campaign trail for months, or if she's in the White House and has no time for kids.

Her down syndrome child will be slingin' crack rocks on Pennsylvania Ave. by March '09.

No point for the Republican convention anymore, or even to vote. President-elect Obama has clinched the election.

Teela: I won't be surprised is Palin politely walks away from the ticket now in order to support her family through this.

Yeah I think so too.

This is just shooting yourself in the foot. Doesn't she know she's supposed to sneak off and get an abortion like all good children of pro-lifers.

2008-09-01 12:58:25 PM
Wow. I didn't know Republicans even liked sex.

McFifenstein: moonscatter: Obama needs to be very carful here and let the media do all of the work. The less his campaign says, the better.

I don't think he'll be able to keep his mouth shut.

He handled questions about Palin very well on 60 Minutes last night - basically damning her with faint praise. Called her an "up and coming public servant" - which is a far cry from admitting someone can lead the country.

I just don't see how Palin was somehow better than someone like Condi Rice or Kay Baily Hutchinson... or any of the half-dozen other Republican women I can think of.

McFifenstein: 12349876: vegaswench: McFifenstein: Seventeen year old women are a GREAT way to judge someone else's character.

Yeah, no shiat. My mom was pregnant with me at 17, married my father, and life goes on. Granted, my grandmother wasn't running for VP, but still, is this possibly surprising that a 17 year old had sex? Come on...

No, but when right-wingers get all high and mighty about morals and shiat and then this happens it reeks of hypocrisy. Abstinence until marriage for you but for my kid it's okay.

I don't imagine things being 'okay' in the Palin household at the moment.

Doesn't this say something about McCain's vetting process? Shouldn't he have been prepared for this?

The issue with Palin isn't that she isn't ready to be President--and she's not. It's what her selection says about McCain:

1) McCain is as reckless as Bush.

2) McCain takes presidential decisions as seriously as Bush. He had only met her twice before selecting her--and had barely vetted her.

3) McCain thinks cynical old political games are more important than wise presidential decision making.

BTW, considering that I'm a moderate, and I have a fixation on MILFs, I can't believe how the Palin pick just pushed me into Obama's camp. It's shocking, really.

I find Palin to be absolutely repugnant. It's like wanting Elisabeth Hasselbeck to be vice president. Abstinence? Creationism?

Someone called her a "21st Century Woman" on another forum. How the hell can you be a 21st century woman if you want to take away women's rights?

spawn73: According to US, stupid, law if he was 18 at the day of the deed...

You have no idea what you are talking about.

1. There is no federal law on ages of consent.
2. The age of consent in Alaska, as well as 31 other states, is 16.

RevMercutio: So Obama's to blame because sites that said his name somewhere also said this. Way to go, McCain campaign.

Does it seem to you that they picked up this loser as a candidate so they could cry "They said hope and change!!!!11!" and call the WWHAAAAAAMbulance any time any democrat anywhere made a comment on her sheer amount of FAIL?

/I bet they picked her so her daughter's pregnancy would bring the abortion debate front and center. Way to bring in the Hillary voters, McAnte-Deluvian!

The Palin's are saying that she's marrying the father, so apparently she won't be a single mom.

So that takes care of that pox, so it looks like you've only got one left.

I like Sarah Palin, I really do. But she isn't doing a good job of not looking like a hick. The Republican party in general looks more hickish by the second.

Are you kidding me? What century is this? Didn't her mom ever tell her about some of the wonderful new advances in reproductive science made in the past few decades? Could anyone possibly be that stupid? She doesn't come from a poor or uneducated background. Here, let me sum this up for any of you that may be unclear on the subject. If you don't use condoms or the pill, then penis+vagina+sperm+secretions+uterus=baby
