Idiot is a profanity? Maybe you're right about the fundie thing.

2008-08-28 04:49:10 AM
Seacop: Really? All that because abortion isn't a as high a political issue with him as say the war, the ecnonomy, or renewable energy?

Kinda harsh.

Abortion will never, ever, ever go away. Conservatives will huff and puff about it to get the fundies all a'bluster, but at the end of the day, Repubs love abortion. After all, all the good 'family values' cats aren't abortin' their young... no, it's the social liberals.

If abortion hadn't been legalized back in '73, you'd have a democratic supermajority.

BonesJackson: From the article: "but officials said he was considering one or more candidates who support abortion rights."

Abortion issues matter so little to the well being of our country I can't even believe people consider it when deciding on a candidate.

Um, it matters a HELL of a lot, to people who have a uterus particularly, but it should matter to everyone because it's an issue of a person's right over their own bodies and health care.

Many more women than you think have had one or more abortions. It's a big deal that they are safe and legal. Your sister might have had one, your mom or aunt might have had one; of your female coworkers, someone's probably had one at some point. They may have had more than one.

People who are not ready to have children end up pregnant all the time. They have to be able to have options in that situation so they can choose what's best for them.

According to a new poll, 20% of McCain supporters would be less likely to vote for him with a pro-abortion rights VP candidate. So believe it.

according to another poll 100% of McCain supporters are either retarded or have been dead for the past 8 years.

That's hardly a representative poll. Everyone knows that a sizable portion of McCain's supporters are still afraid of that 'demon box' which pretends to be the voices of their friends and family.

Picking a candidate for a single social issue is pretty bad. Everyone knows you pick a candidate that gives you more votes!

Sadly that would probably do better than the crash and burn I would hope for.

Could someone remind Subby that making old jokes about McCain is as tired out as a 57 year old whore?

And would someone explain to me why this is news? ...they didnt mention who the running mate is. With all his comments about Obama I would love to see Hilary. I mean he's quoted her enough.

/get off my lawn

cardex: according to another poll 100% of McCain supporters are either retarded or have been dead for the past 8 years.

I would say that about 50% of Republican voters are happy with the last 8 years. A chunk of the other 50% (I wouldn't speculate on how many) are completely behind John McCain and always have been, even though they didn't like the last 8 years. The rest of them didn't like the last 8 years, don't care for McCain, but hate the idea of a Democrat in the White House.

Look at Bush's approval ratings. All those people are voting McCain (both Obama and Barr are running anti-Bush campaigns). That's about half of McCain's support.

Please don't preaching to me like I said I was pro/anti anything; I never even brought that up.

The point is we are currently at war. We are currently in a recession. We are currently experiencing an energy crisis, and yet voters are fretting about the eventuality of an unwanted pregnancy? Well no, actually. It's just a dividing line and they want to be on the right side of it. And the candidates are pandering to those crowds and we're all losing because of it.

See, now, I thought they were waiting until Friday because archaeologists haven't yet found the Rosetta stone for the language he speaks.

2008-08-28 05:43:31 AM
Let's see, my personal hopes for McCain's veep spot:

Guiliani, "My friends, noun, verb, pow, 9/11"
Jindal, the guy is like 35, a faith healer and exorcist, plus he's brown.
Romney, They got along really well during the primary, and the general population really loves his Mormonness.
Lieberman, the anti abortionists will really really love that.
Hillary, Hell, he could grab her since Obama didn't (he might get the Hillary supporters, but the Republicans would flee that ship fast)

I've been able to crack the language he uses, without a Rosetta stone. It took me some time, but(t) I figured it out after squeezing enough stool.

I'll give Limbaugh this much credit: he's done a pretty good job of painting McCain into a corner.

Word is, he's considering an abortion rights supporter. Limbaugh and gang are freaking the hell out.

So what happens now? Is McCain really the maverick he claims to be, a gue who will pick who he damn well wants, or will he dance like a good little puppet for the dittoheads?
