burndtdan:

we get it, you like to rub your naked body in petroleum at night. come off it.

Petroleum jelly. You can't do that with solar.

I think it's helpful to point out how the Democrats are trying to hoodwink Americans into giving money to their business friends. It's easy for Dems to accuse Republicans of doing this, but they do the EXACT SAME THING, but are less honest about it.

Hobodeluxe: aevert: I know he isn't speaking tonight, but here is my drinking game for Obama's acceptance speech:

1. Drink every time he says "hope"
2. Drink every time he says "change"
3. Take a shot every time he uses "hope" and "change" in the same sentence.

Good luck making it through the speech.

McCain's will be easy. drink every time they say POW

Drink every time the GOP says "Obama" and you'll be dead within the hour on the first night.

But anyway, yes, I do expect Obama to use the words "hope" and "change" tomorrow. I hope he does. Because like a lot of Americans, I hope that big changes are coming our way. They're not buzzwords to me, and I don't think that they're buzzwords to Obama either.

Wait...what joke did McCain make about Chelsea? Did he send her a saddle or something?

Up next...

Pamella Cash-Roper

Then...

Brian Schweizer

Then...

Tr0mBoNe: I thought the Republicans were about Hard Work, Tenacity, and Faith... sheesh...

Yeah:

1. Hard Work: Keeping your hypocritical private life out of the public eye

2. Tenacity: Never letting go of old, buted ideas - even those from the Bronze Age!

3. Faith: That you won't get caught tapping your foot in the restroom while simultaneously denying basic human rights to your own citizens because you disagree with their "lifestyle"

Something like, "No wonder she's so ugly, her father is Janet Reno."

For the most part, they're all the same friends. There is plenty of money being thrown into alternative energy research by oil companies.

I don't know about Chelsea, but Edwards is the one fooling around with Camila's sister, Nelly.

IXI Jim IXI: I wish people would stop being scared of Nuclear

Yo (new window)

My backyard. Major debacle. People remember that kind of terrible spending, terrible work, and the disasters that followed by completed reactors.

I'm sure glad it never started up. It' was bad. . and every worker came home and told their families how bad it was.. . and then 3 mile island. . and Chernobyl.

I agree. More nuclear. But there's resistance for good reason.

And *that* is the political challenge.

Well yeah, but for God's sakes, there's a smart way of doing things. Use recent technology. Hell, Europe hasn't blown themselves up yet...

And christ, don't go with the lowest bidder ;)

How dare you question his sense of humor. McCain spent 5 and 1/2 years without access to the Google, as a POW.

When you say things like this, you imply John McCain can speak clearly without a teleprompter. Hell, he can barely work with either.

Wow, who dipped in to the stereotypical American box? Chubby white guy, string tie, goofy grin, talking a load of nonsense.

Who would've thought that pissing on your primary opponent and saying the Republican is more qualified would come back and bite Democrats in the ass?

She had better hit it out of the park tonight. Any half-assing will be disastrous.

They've got a podium which likely has a monitor in it. They look like they're speaking a memorized speech. Waaaaaaaaay too prepared to be ad hoc.

You at least seem to be rational, so I have to ask you a serious question about this "zOMG Obama can only speak good with a telepromter" meme that's being bandied about by the GOP...

Seriously, how does this line of attack even make sense when your candidate is John "8 second pause followed by 'I'll have to check with my staff to see how I voted'" McCain?

I mean, the man isn't exactly a brilliant off-the-cuff speaker himself.

Geez, make a dry little joke about a teleprompter and the hackles go way up. Amusing (to me, anyway).
