Awesome. Olbermann may be arrogant, but he doesn't just spout baseless nonsense like Joe.

Its like the WWE in there

2008-08-25 10:06:14 PM
that was farking epic. i don't even care what they were talking about, that was epic.

He had absolutely nothing to say in response.
He said get a shovel like 8 times.

owned.

Joe Scarborough is by FAR the worst element of Morning Joe. The program was way more intelligent without him (when his baby was having trouble).

2008-08-25 10:31:57 PM
Nice. Finally someone decides to call out the crap-shoveling that personalities have been doing for the McCain campaign.

Of course it would be Olbermann who does it first.

Agreed 100%.

Scarborough is an idiot.

No Oh Snap! flowchart? I am disappointed.

Also... does anyone else think Scarborough looks like Chandler from Friends?

2008-08-25 10:59:30 PM
this is contrasted with cnn, where some republican they got to add republican commentary started talking about how he thought the convention was horrible and stupid for assorted reasons, and wolf blitzer spent the next 20 minutes repeating it, and will probably spend the rest of the night discussing it.

2008-08-25 11:00:34 PM
in fact they're discussing it already.

He looks like the banjo playing kid from Deliverance, with those beady rat eyes.

I watched the CNN feed of the convention... I think it's good I was already drunk. It's nothing more than a pep rally. A black, angry pep rally.

You have got to be the one person on the planet that thinks it was a black, angry pep rally.

I mean, what with all the white people talking and in the crowd.

Here, every negative thing about the convention was that it didn't flesh out any plans and was a wasted day.

Thanks for your brilliant analysis!

Whether or not you agree with Olbermann, you have to wonder how he'd react to another broadcaster interrupting him while he was in the middle of one of his rants.

I suspect he wouldn't take too kindly to it.

Congrats!

SnarfVader: Nice spin. He'd almost have to throw you back. Almost.

Yeah... because it's a farking game show... right?

Okay, let's pretend it's a game show just for a minute... Check it out. I found the rules of the game:

These rules apply to link submissions AND user profiles as well. To that end, here they are:

* Don't repost deleted content/links.
* Don't post NSFW (Not Safe For Work) images or unlabeled NSFW links.
* Don't post graphic images or links to graphic content.
* Don't post repetitively.
* Don't threadjack.
* Don't encourage others to perform illegal acts.
* Don't post hate speech.
* Don't post broken images/links.
* Don't post private/contact information no matter how easily obtained.
* Don't troll/harass other Farkers.
* Don't troll/harass Fark or its maintainers.

* Don't discuss bans in the threads.
* Don't try to make the thread discussions all about you -aka Attention Whoring.
* Don't post TotalFark content/links on regular Fark.
* Don't attempt to hack, flood, DoS, DDoS, or otherwise compromise Fark.
* Don't abuse the submission queue.
* Don't post illegal content of any kind.

These rules are basic, common sense stuff.

I bolded the relevant parts for ya.

But Maddow did it better, and repeatedly. Towards the end of the night, she looked at Buchanan as if she owned him.

Like I said in another thread, it's because she just got the show. She KNOWS she got the show because of the nightly ass-reaming she gave Patty Patty Buch Buch.

I want to know where this "media love fest for Obama" is.

I heard about in on Hannity, but I can't find it anywhere. What channel is it on?

All I see are AIPAC shills slyly calling him Uppity and Elitist every day.

Help.

I think someone left the mic on and we weren't supposed to hear KO say that, but since it happened, they rolled with it. I'm sure Keith says stuff like that to himself all the time when Republicans are spinning as he's listening to them.

2008-08-26 02:10:11 AM
Scarborough spouts the most unsubstantiated shiat on his morning show and no one ever calls him on it. He's quickly learning he's not the big dog at MSNBC anymore. Hell, even Rachel Maddow eats his lunch on a regular basis.

The best was when she talked about Buchanan's "Culture War" speech at the '92 RNC being the galvanizing point that caused her to support Clinton, because after all, they didn't hate her.

Morning Joe is one of the most underrated political shows out there, even despite JScar's often-incoherent ramblings.

2008-08-26 02:12:25 AM
Plus, like someone says in the comment section, Joe takes shots at Olbermann and "the night guys" all the time on Morning Joe where Keith can't defend himself.

2008-08-26 02:13:06 AM
Obama didn't even know what city he was in and Michelle's speech sounded like it was written for 12 year olds. Considering how much TFers ate it up, I guess that makes sense.

RevMercutio: The best was when she talked about Buchanan's "Culture War" speech at the '92 RNC being the galvanizing point that caused her to support Clinton, because after all, they didn't hate her.

Which reminds me of a Yahoo/AP news story I read yesterday:

FRESNO, Calif. - Michael Bumgarner says he's never campaigned for a political cause before, but his strong opposition to same-sex marriage has prompted him to join thousands of volunteers going door-to-door in support of a ballot initiative that would ban gay nuptuals here.

"I've never stumped before, but I want to be a part of this," Bumgarner said. The retired insurance executive and devout Mormon said his late mother would "turn over in her grave" if she knew that gays and lesbians could marry.

I had to blink and shake my head to make sure I wasn't reading The Onion.

Yeah. That was pretty incredible. Very poignant. Pat looked a little shocked by it and as usual, his voice got louder and he reverted directly to talking points to cover his embarrassment. Or so it seemed to me.
