Slow day in the news.

2002-12-16 10:35:06 AM
I'm so bored I'm even looking forward to StrongBads email...

2002-12-16 10:35:17 AM
Yeah, here's my wishlist. Buy me stuff dammit!

2002-12-16 10:35:18 AM
My wife gave me Grand Theft Auto Vice City for Christmas, early last night.

My wishes have come true. I stole a car and just sat and listened to the "radio" last night for like an hour.

I can't believe that there are people that haven't read 1984... (see the wish lists)

2002-12-16 10:36:04 AM
Drew is a Robotech/Macross fan? Well I'll be damned...

2002-12-16 10:36:06 AM
If you actually get any of that stuff, it came from me.

2002-12-16 10:36:26 AM
hurrumph!

2002-12-16 10:38:05 AM
LOL
How many wishlists is this now?!

With TotalFark, Classifieds, and Fark Gear, fer Christsakes come on people.

2002-12-16 10:38:15 AM
Yay! Robotech! Hell, I'm gonna buy up those DVD's. I haven't seen Robotech Masters in years. They gonna release the Invid saga too?

2002-12-16 10:39:22 AM
MORE BOOBIES! to ya!!!!

2002-12-16 10:39:53 AM
Again? Is this ploy actually working?

2002-12-16 10:40:02 AM
Macross Plus kicked ass.

/sorta random

2002-12-16 10:40:21 AM
Gwinny: I have seen "The Sweet and Lowdown"; great movie; fav line: "Ya wanna go down to the dump and shoot some rats?"

2002-12-16 10:40:33 AM
Oh, Drew.

Drew, Drew, Drew...

Starship Troopers?

You've GOT to be kidding me!

2002-12-16 10:41:28 AM
I must meet, greet and eat with new friends before I buy gifts. You would think that since I live in Versailles, Ky and help run a multi-million dollar business, that I would have met the FARK-STAFF by now. BUT, NNNnnnoOOooOoo!

2002-12-16 10:42:45 AM
Once again, if anyone buys me and Gwinny Segways, we're gonna do 'em up "Mad Max" style and joust in Central Park.

2002-12-16 10:44:35 AM
Do Segways work in 2 feet of snow? Just wondering.

2002-12-16 10:44:58 AM
Hey MOFO Is that price listed on Amazon for the segway a mistake I just read a review of one on MSNBC and they quoted the price at around 5 G's. Also if you are gonna do em mad max style you should oversize the wheels and don't forget the spikes on the rims.

sos
2002-12-16 10:45:10 AM
Drew, Mike, Jeff, et.al. Has anyone actually bought you guys stuff?

sos
2002-12-16 10:45:49 AM
45cal That price is the down payment... It is just under $5k.

2002-12-16 10:46:01 AM
I got some really kickass Apple II games on disc somewhere around here.

2002-12-16 10:46:25 AM
Ha! You guys oughtta see the presents we would be getting for ourselves after we spooged all over all the users with popup ads, interstitials and all kinds of other annoying crap.

But we aren't doing that. Goodbye $50,000 per month in user screw-over ads...

Go visit a couple other sites to see what screwing over the user is all about. There's nobody making a paycheck off fark, except maybe ClearChannel communications since they don't pay us for the show prep that they use from the site.

2002-12-16 10:46:45 AM
Corporate Mofo

Someone should photoshop that.

And if you do both get segways be sure to post pictures of the duel.

2002-12-16 10:46:56 AM
And if anyone doesn't like my writing, they can put their money where their mouth is:

2002-12-16 10:47:26 AM
It's amazing how similar my taste in some things (American Empire: The Center Cannot Hold by Harry Turtledove, The Terminator (Special Edition) DVD ~ Arnold Schwarzenegger) is to Drews.........and how vastly different it is in others (Robotech - The Masters - Complete Collection, Beauty and the Beast (Disney Special Platinum Edition) DVD)

2002-12-16 10:48:05 AM
Just wondering, do Segways work on steep inclines and icy roads?

I live in the mountains.

2002-12-16 10:48:40 AM
Rudezombie

Tom Waits & Nick Drake = kickass!

Uh, but yeah, I'm not buying them for you. Just saying they're good, that's all.

2002-12-16 10:48:42 AM
Gogi's wish list and mine look quite similar, except for the subscription to Golf magazine.

Is Gogi really Santa Claus in disguise?

2002-12-16 10:48:44 AM
I'll buy you the "Starship Troopers" DVD if you can assure me you'll never breed.

2002-12-16 10:48:49 AM
Hmm, think someone pooped in Jeff's coffee this morning!

Not that I can blame him the least bit for being bothered, really.

2002-12-16 10:49:58 AM
Bass555: I used to be a film publicist, and "Sweet and Lowdown" is one of the films I did publicity for. In addition, Sam Morton (the mute) is a friend of mine.

2002-12-16 10:50:07 AM
How about you guys buy US stuff?

2002-12-16 10:50:53 AM
i just want a pony, is that too much to ask

2002-12-16 10:50:55 AM
Mine's simple:

1. Winona Ryder (a pair of her soiled knicks would suffice, though)

2. £40,000,000

The problem with the rest of the world is that it's frigid and selfish.

2002-12-16 10:51:53 AM
Jeff is 100% correct. Not only does Fark give people who do advertise an incredible amount of bang for the buck, but the amount of advertising is incredibly low. If Fark were run like most Internet businesses, there would be pop-ups all over and Drew & co. could rake in lots of dough--before people got sick of it and left. However, Fark will NEVER jump the shark (hey, that rhymes!) and that's why it's a great site and you should all buy Drew those DVDs.

2002-12-16 10:51:56 AM
You'll get nothing and like it!

2002-12-16 10:52:02 AM
Thanks SOS I was gonna get one for myself if they were selling them at a discount on Amazon.

2002-12-16 10:53:43 AM
If Corporate Mofo and I were to duel in Central Park on Segways, I would definitely kick his ass.

In your FACE, Ken!!! MWWWAAAHAHHAHAAA!!!

2002-12-16 10:53:51 AM
Happy Holidays to all the Farkers and all the wonderful staff of Fark that makes this all possible.

2002-12-16 10:54:07 AM
Thanks Jeff, I guess that's your Christmas present to all of us!

2002-12-16 10:54:40 AM
I got Jeff three of the cheap books on his list, and I'm going to get Drew a DVD.

I am not getting anyone a Segway.

Merry Christmas

2002-12-16 10:56:36 AM
Drew wants Star Ship Troopers for christmas? That was like the worest sci-fi movie ever! What the hell is wrong with him.

2002-12-16 10:56:43 AM
If Corporate Mofo and I were to duel in Central Park on Segways, I would definitely kick his ass.

I think not... I used to joust for real, you know.

2002-12-16 10:57:57 AM
I think not...I used to joust for real, you know.

SO? What I lack in experience, I make up for in scrappiness!

2002-12-16 10:58:21 AM
Actually, I offered to send one of the requested gifts to a certain admin, but I dunno, maybe I wasn't obvious enough.

Mike, do you still want OS X?

2002-12-16 10:59:20 AM
Drew's dvd is The Usual Suspects, I saw it for the fourth time this weekend.

Ho Ho Ho!

2002-12-16 11:00:13 AM
Do you want some 'genuine' Chinese noodle soup?

2002-12-16 11:00:16 AM
Alright somebody explain these two things on the same list, please.
