Islam is afraid that western influences will disuade people from a "good life" in the name of Allah. So to prevent this they deprive people of what they want and slowly thin out their numbers by flogging and killing people that don't tow the party line.

Eventually they will either have an all out revolution or there will be nobody left. At least the Amish are smart and realize that to win you have to play the game. They realize that their way can't go on forever without changing so they make concessions to pacify people.

Oh, I don't know.... "totally gone" is a bit extreme. I bet like anything else, there will always be little splinter groups, and the more moderate, mainstream Islamic factions will probably always be around, just like how most Christians aren't in fact bible-thumping, angel-tossing Chick-freaks... most of them are moderate, mainstream believers in something they were brought up to believe.

Y.Dload, I beleive under Iranian law it is legal for a man to kill his wife if her dowry/treasury what ever, is not as big as her family promised when they married or if she cheats on him.
