Once you reach a certain age in gymnastics, you hit a biological and physical wall and you start to decline. Much the same as any other sport, except that wall appears much sooner in gymnastics.

I agree that they won't do anything, but they're definitely the opposite of passive-agressive. They're much more likely to manipulate all available evidence of the girls' ages to make it appear that they are of proper age.

Gymnasts as a whole used to be a bit older, and they weren't any worse. Also college gymnasts tend to be no worse, and sometimes beter than what you see at the Olympics. And they tend to be much more muscled than the girls at the Olympics.
