Missing Creepy Girl's ode to a little fishee, but great nevertheless

I friggin' love this. :) One of my favorite things about MST3K was the weird selection of stingers that they picked for all the movies.

I will say, though, the tone of "CAPTAIN! I'VE GOT IT FIXED! IT'S ALL WORKING AGAIN!" isn't exactly reassuring.

And Mr. B. Natural's dancing is the stuff of nightmares.

My favorite stingers would have to be Voldar's weird laugh in Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (seen in this montage), Mooney losing his shiat in The Beatniks, or the less-than-heroic screaming in Space Mutiny. (pops)

brokennewz: Me miss show badly

When Seinfeld went off the air after 9 seasons, it felt as if it was about time.

When MST3K went off the air after 10 seasons, it felt as if the-powers-that-be were out of their minds, that they were pulling the plug far too soon. After all, the Sci-Fi Channel seasons were absolute gold.

The Santa Claus Conquers the Martians YTMND clip will undoubtedly play in the background here for an obnoxiously long time.

Most of my favorites are Sci-Fi era: Space Mutiny, Werewolf, Time Chasers, Giant Spider Invasion, Horror at Party Beach, etc.

Yeah, as far as the whole Joel/Mike debate goes, I don't really have a clear favorite, myself...

... but the Mike episodes from the Sci-Fi era were a lot better than the ones from the Comedy Central era, I think.

I've always been partial to Final Justice, The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies, The Phantom Planet, Werewolf, and Jack Frost.

Heh, I have a few from when the show used to be syndicated as The Mystery Science Theater Hour.

I have a number of the DVD sets, but the bulk of my collection is made up of VHS copies of Sci-Fi era shows.

DarthBrooks: I died a little when Joel left.

Say what you will about the skits, but at least the riffing continued to be excellent over the course of the show's run.

The thing that gets me about this movie is that the kid's dialogue is so painfully overdubbed. By a woman. Who, like, sings the lines.

I totally agree. When the show came to an end, a part of me died. I love that show so much.

I'll bet the "That's OK, we'll give 'em to dislexic kids!" line was one of them.

My personal fav stingers:

The Hobgoblins driving the golf cart.
The Mitchell/little child altercation.
And the last stinger ever "Is that stud coming?"

Forty-Two: The thing that gets me about this movie is that the kid's dialogue is so painfully overdubbed. By a woman. Who, like, sings the lines.

When you get to the part where Tommy tells Trumpy that he'll grow up to be "really big and strong," you're flat-out laughing at the damn thing.

ursomniac: I like you Timmy, I'll kill you last.

TomServo0: Season 3 was full of great moments. Santa Claus Conquers the Martianshas made me fall of the couch laughing on three separate occasions.

It was one of the first few MST3K episodes I saw. If nothing else, it pretty much solidified my love for the show.

"Droppo! You are the laziest man on Mars! Why are you sleeping during working hours?"

"BECAUSE I'M THE LAZIEST MAN ON MARS."

NimbleWalrus: What a great show.

/hi-keeba!

Indeed. My only regret is that my cable company didn't get Comedy Central until long after they stopped showing reruns of MST3K.

I would have loved to have watched any of the Turkey Day marathons.

lerxst2112: I totally agree. When the show came to an end, a part of me died. I love that show so much.

It's easily my favorite. I can't recall a comedy show on TV that I enjoyed more than MST3K.

So, yeah, it sucked to see Sci-Fi rescue the show from Comedy Central's cancellation only to cancel it three years later. Meh.

TomServo24: I'll bet the "That's OK, we'll give 'em to dislexic kids!" line was one of them.

Heh, I always got a big laugh out of:

"Consarnit, I get the names mixed up, but the kids know their names!"

"Yeah, 'cause they're sober."

My personal fav stingers:

The Hobgoblins driving the golf cart.
The Mitchell/little child altercation.

The Hobgoblins one was gold... a number of them from the Sci-Fi era were very funny, like the speech about "the good and the beautiful" from The Phantom Planet. (pops)

Love the show, but I personally think Frank was the worst thing about it. That guy can't funny his way out of a paper bag.
