You know, it takes two to lie... one to lie and one to listen. So if you think about it, aren't we all just as guilty as Cheney ?

What? Why is FARK wasting time on White House officials forging documents to justify a war based on lies? COME ON!!

Suskind is a very well-respected journalist who, to my knowledge, has never fabricated anything for any article.

God, an independent and motivated press is good to have; too bad the members of the press who feel that way are so few in number.

...b-b-but John Edwards had sex with a woman who wasn't his wife!

Stay focused on what's important, people!

Obdicut: Suskind is a very well-respected journalist who, to my knowledge, has never fabricated anything for any article.

Yes. He claims to have taped - with permission - all the relevant interviews, and said he'd give access to them "if he had to."

This is not some highly partisan muckraker with an agenda - he's legit. I would have been intrigued, but hesitant, if this accusation came from some newbie, but when Suskind says something, it's worth listening to. Not to mention the (general) corroboration from other, clearly non-libtard sources.

Pelosi needs to call congress back in session. Now. This is her duty. She needs to do it or face charges herself.

he also has email correspondence to turn over as evidence.

I'm one. I think that there should be a full investigation, and if wrongdoing is proved, the responsible parties should be prosecuted accordingly.

Too late to impeach now. Let them finish their terms and then indict them and prosecute them. No get out of jail free card for either of them then.

Some of us were thinking along similar lines back in 2002-2003. I was stunned when they launched the offensive into Iraq in March that year.

Not news. What is news is that the public is sort of starting to get it, too.

That is every American's dream. But, alas, in reality both Bush and Cheney will die at their ranch and not in prison. I only hope that there is a hell, and Bush and Cheney suffer for eternity.

Scums.

We've had evidence of impeachable crimes for at least 3 years now. Why in the world would Congress actually hold them accountable now?

Don't forget that this is just the criminalization of forcing the CIA to forge evidence to sway a country into war under false pretenses.

Because despite it being a dream come true, do you have any idea what would happen if Congress decided to impeach both Darth Vader and his accomplice? Pure hectic and chaos. Think about it, this trial would over shadow everything. The economy would be in a worse position then it is now, the wars would be in an even worse position, every politician would be so divided that nothing would happen. Not to mention hundreds of millions would be wasted.

it must have really hurt the fark mods something fierce to finally let a single greenlight through on this story that the best they could deal with was 10:00 on a friday.

It's going to be an interesting 2 months between the election and January 20th if Obama wins. That's a long time for documents to be shredded, emails deleted, attacks on Iran.

I want corroborating evidence. Otherwise it's just his word against the administrations. For anything to happen (at this stage, I don't think anything will) there must be other sources.

E-mails? What e-mails? The administration already said they do not archive emails. They already said by law they are not allowed to.

Documents? Pish poshiathe documents are long gone.

Who said let the get away with it? I'm just saying the impeachment process would be the wrong approach. We all know nothing is going to happen to Bush and Cheney. What i'm saying is wait until the asshat leaves THEN haul their asses to court. No immunity or anything.

Pelosi: "Impeachment is Off The Table."

It isn't about justice. It is about politics. The Democrats know that what happened to Clinton was nothing more than "just revenge" for what happened to Nixon. They know if they do an impeachment now, the Republicans will never rest until they bring another Democrat down in flames.

Personally, I think that's cowardly and wrong headed. The way to handle a bully is to kick them in the balls until they start apologizing, like what happened to Biff in "Back to the Future" in at least one timeline.

Hundreds of millions? Is that more or less than we'd save by pulling out of Iraq four hours earlier than otherwise?

So basically when the federal government fails, the state governments can't continue to run? Do we live in a country of united states or do we live in a single government nation?

Audio of NPR and Suskind telling America exactly what's what and how this went down.

No. Nice try, though. Think about it, man. Even if Pelosi went the impeachment route, how many republicans are going to back her up on this? The Dems do not have a high enough majority in Congress. Their lead is very small, if enough repubs do not line up with the Dems on this issue, then it will be a failed attempt. An attempt that will be distracting more then anything.

Unless some solid hard proof comes out, all this is hearsay and speculations...
