Looking like jackasses? C'mon you troll threads and headlines for grammar mistakes and do your best to derail threads when you find them. Your hobby is being a jackass.

There are some STUPID people riding around with lots of drugs, egad. This happens about once a month -- frigging Tito and three other guys with 100lbs of dope doing 75 in a 30 with the headlights off and one flat tire... Dummies like this belong in jail, they're safer locked up.

I live in a small city on I-75 (major drug pipeline traffic). It is amazing the number of times I read in the newspaper about people (usually out of state traffic) who are pulled over for speed and/or irresponsible driving tactics, then consent to a search of their vehicles (which are carrying a significant amount of illegal substances). How hard is it to drive reasonably in order to safely earn your drug money? Idiots!

FTA:, emphasis mine: The eastbound pickup was stopped for speeding and lane use violations.

This is the first time I've ever seen a vehicle stopped for lane use violations, but of course, Wyoming probably needs to do that to generate revenue. Granted, more cops should stop more people for lane use violations (i.e. using the left lane when not actively passing someone).

Fortunately, some people (probably most) do a better job.

You gotta treat running drugs like driving drunk. Do the speed limit, don't flip off cops, stay in your lane and make sure they have no reason to pull you over.

I've never run drugs aside from bringing home small personal use quantities.

I've never driven drunk either - at least in the eyes of the law, which is to say I have never even been arrested let alone convicted. (although a cop once told me "you're drunk" - he didn't even write me a ticket...broke one of the rules that time - I had a burned-out headlight.)

All it takes is one mistake, which is why I don't do that anymore.

If they think the stop will result in finding drugs they will pull you over for whatever they can get you for. I got pulled over once for my license plate light being too dim. And what do you know, he found a joint roach. oh noes

I once was tailgated on I-25 by a carfull of people with Wyoming plates. I later noticed it had a DOT logo on the side. (What they were doing in Colorado, I'll never know - probably visiting the big city of Greeley - they were headed in that direction)

You know what they do in Wyoming when you have out of state plates? The rednecks slow down to like 20 in front of you on a two lane road, then when you go to pass, they speed up so you can't get around them. Over and over. And over again. That's all the 'necks have for fun up there.

That's because they don't have to worry about running into anyone else like people in populated states do.

My husband and I ended up driving from Florida to Wyoming one Christmas(it beat the $1500 plane tickets and got to visit family en route). "Just" north of Cheyenne (translation: about and hour), I hit a patch of black ice and rolled our truck. We ended upright on the right median of the highway and relatively unscathed. The cop that came showed up to the scene issued me a citation for 'leaving the roadway' and 'unlawful lane-change'. I was ticked and asked if the truck hadn't rolled to the median, would I be ticket free. He replied "Nope. Would've just written you a ticket for obstructing traffic lanes."

/*sighs* Ahhh, Wyoming

I got pulled over in BFE Wyoming on I-80 at 5am for doing 67 in a 65 and driving in the left lane without passing anybody. Here is the conversation.

Trooper: Can I search your vehicle?
Rodddxl: Why?
Trooper: To make sure you aren't transporting drugs. I-80 is a major drug corridor through Wyoming.
Rodddxl: I-80 is the ONLY major corridor through Wyoming. So no. You can't search my car.
Trooper: You know I can hold you here and call for a drug sniffing dog. It would take them at least 3-4 hours to get here.
Rodddxl: I'm not on a tight schedule and I got lunch in the cooler. I can wait. But the guy with the dog is going to be pissed after he drives 200 miles and doesn't find anything.
Trooper: Slow it down. Have a nice day.

Funny how everyone complains how the cops always pull people over on bullshiat pretext stops like speeding or unsafe lane changes or burned-out taillight just so they can search for drugs...and then they always find drugs!

ISN'T THAT A COINCIDENCE? I WONDER WHY THAT IS?
