O RRY?

2008-08-05 03:49:33 PM
That's pretty interesting. I was thinking about this just yesterday, this was actually my guess, but I thought it was stupid and they wouldn't do it. Guess not.

My question is, if they ever go back to Vice City, what are they going to do? The did the only cool aspect of that city already. How can they improve that. The 80s was were it was at for Miami. What else can you do?

/Also, I have a prediction, that one of the future GTA games will have all the 3 main cities and you can travel between them (via cutscene airplane, of course)

Nah. I can't see Rockstar limiting GTA to something like "Chinatown Wars". That doesn't even sound right for one of the GTA 'Stories' games. It takes them years to make these games, so I seriously doubt they'd release a working title in a survey. You FAIL, GulliSubby.

I can see it for a DS release. Which is what the article is talking about.

When they run out of GTA ideas, Rockstar should just sit down and release The Wire and let you choose which side to play. It would equally fun to play McNulty and just go around busting up the corners and banging chicks, or play someone like Brody or Slim Charles and work your way up the Barksdale organization. Or better yet play your own side as Omar.

I hope the next GTA games takes place in 1977, and the city is based off of Chicago. That would be awesome, especially the in-game music.

Rockstar did such a great job with the Warriors, I'm suprised that they haven't announced another movie-based game. I mean, there are plenty of movies that would lend themselves to a game (especially if they give it the extra treatment and add events leading up to those of the movie).

Night of the Living Dead (the original) would be an especially cool game. Especially when you get to integrate all the events that happen with all the various people getting to the farm house separately.

Omar would have to be an unlockable character. Too powerful.

It's only cool if the game features the ability to sit on a fence and then, by pushing a combinations of buttons, you can make a dollar out of 15 cents.

To play devil's advocate, the Warriors movie you linked to is a remake (reboot, whatever) of the original, which Rockstar made into a pretty decent game a couple of years ago. And Dead Rising was definitely a take off of Dawn of the Dead (in theme) and aside from the zombies, which are in a hundred different games, has nothing at all to do with Night of the Living Dead.

I think the idea of a Night of the Living Dead game as cyrus_hunter described would be phenomenal if they pulled it off right.

I'm not sure where they'll go with it, but they'd better step up their game from GTAIV. The environment in IV is truly incredible, but the more serious tone and the lack of extracurricular things to do (oooo... darts, that's so much better than pimping...) make me think that I'm not as likely to just toss in IV for some general havoc once I get 100% completion (am at 95%, don't get much playing time). Replay of missions would be nice too.

I'm looking forward to Saint's Row 2, and I'm thinking that the next GTA won't be an automatic purchase for me (like all the GTAs have been since 3). I want to be able to run around and raise hell, and that's just less fun in IV.

Make it bigger and more recent. With the housing bubble in play, the real estate driven Vice City could be gigantic with subdivisions, a broken downtown, various outskirt cities, swampland, and perhaps some Keys-like islands along with possibly another Cuba-like country and the mad patriotism of today along with that. Feasibly, it could be a very big game that takes off the glitz of the '80s with the gritty reality of today. It could be very awesome.

I think they should be more playful in the next GTA IV game. The cops should be stormtroopers when it comes to accuracy and not so good at being cops. Also, we definitely need more activities because that's what is missing. We wanted a better San Andreas and instead got a very souped-up and improved GTA III.

And that said, I'd like to have an option for a Saints Row controller layout option in the next GTA IV game as well. For some reason, Rockstar just got it wrong this time around. The triggers for acceleration is just awkward.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

I second that idea. A Guy Ritchie type plot and wacky Brit criminals would be perfect for GTA.
