I saw this on the daily show. It looked like the anuerism clip in his brain was getting loose. He was all glassy-eyed and speaking pretty slowly. Next week he'll be recommending the weekly world news for a good source on the bat-boy twins fiasco.

I just did a research paper on stem cells, and frankly, the stuff in the news papers is such a useless bunch of watered down drivel it makes me embarassed to be human....What I hate the most is the way people make this out to be a religious or moral issue. As always, it's about the money. Drug companies make so much money off pain medication, and the people doing stem cell research are mostly little labs and individuals...Argh. Thinking. I feel the need to say something funny, but nothing comes to mind. Anger...consuming.....mind.... Actually, I'm glad Bush at least allowed some research. I thought he'd swallowed this folk's dicks so far that he'd go along with whatever they said. At least he's halfway human. Sigh.

Anyone remember the time Dan Rather refused to go on the air because a tennis match pre-empted the news? There was like four minutes of empty air or something. Sometimes I think Dan Rather isn't all there. Must be exposure to all that hairspray! :)

I saw this clip on the Daily Show, too. It appeared to me as if Dan was stumbling for words and he just started babbling to fill the last few seconds of air time (as opposed to sitting there silently). Then at the end came this comment about reading the newspaper and it was so odd, so awkward, that I just laughed.

He should have just said, "You'll want to join CBS News again in the coming days, as we're sure to have more on this topic." That would have been far better, and I'm sure he realized it as soon as the cameras turned off.
