Was there anything in Fark about the 22 year old girl who was busted for weed and threatened with prison to force her to become a drug informant, and then she was murdered as a result?

Our drug policy is run by bastards. Farking bastards. I hate all our leaders who smoked weed and built prisons for other drug users. Clinton, Bush, etc.

Valdes: On the flip side, I think that pot should be 100% legal. I realize that gambling is an addictive activity, but I don't think marijuana is.

Then explain your bullshiat post on 06:14:08 PM where you claimed a bullshiat study about addictive properties.

Anyone who thinks this instance of stupidity represents how all people who smoke weed act can go fark themselves.

O.K., the guy already has enough green in his possession to be relatively happy for a little while. But, instead of finding some nice young thing to share it with, he enters an establishment where (except under the most unlikely of circumstances) he would be relieved of all his `green' forthwith. And then he lays out his green on the felt???

Boy has more problems than good green can alleviate. Lock that guy down (not for possession of the green, but for idiocy - just imagine the stats for that affliction).

Valdes: This is another common characteristic of addict. A lot of time is spent creating images of the great and wonderful things. Pathetically, however, they never seems to make even the smallest dream come true. When addict indulge, they fail in reckless desperation and the depths of their misery are fathomless as their dream world comes crashing down. Sadly, they will struggle back, dream more dreams, and of course suffer more misery. No one can convince them that their greatness will not someday come crashing down, like the Berlin Wall under David Hasselhoff. They believe they will, for without this dream world, life for them would not be tolerable.

You need to smoke a joint. Chill.

Valdes: Researchers in New Zealand found that addicts by the age of 15 were more than three times (300%) more likely to develop illnesses such as schizophrenia. Other research has backed this up, showing that use increases the risk of psychosis by up to 700% for heavy users, and that the risk increases in proportion to the amount of use. Additionally, the younger a person uses, the higher the risk for schizophrenia, and the worse the schizophrenia is when the person does develop it. Research by psychiatrists in inner-city areas speak of addiction being a factor in up to 80 percent of schizophrenia cases.

So people with schizophrenic tendencies are more likely to do drugs?

Judasbot: Valdes: Signs of an ADDICT:

INABILITY AND UNWILLINGNESS TO ACCEPT REALITY. Hence the escape into the dream world.
EMOTIONAL INSECURITY. An addict finds he or she is emotionally comfortable only when chasing the dream. It is not uncommon to hear an addict say: "The only place I really felt like I belonged was there. There I felt secure and comfortable. No great demands were made upon me. I knew I was destroying myself, yet at the same time, I had a certain sense of security."
IMMATURITY. Many addictaccept the fact that they were unwilling to grow up. Subconsciously they felt they could avoid mature responsibility , and so the struggle to escape responsibility finally became a subconscious obsession.

This is so interesting. Please, cram some more of your unsolicited propoganda down my throat.

Valdes: This addicition can be one of the easiest forms of addicition to hide from friends and family. Addict can shut the door and erase their internet files to hide any evidence that they have been on line. Help Guide studied 389 addicts who sought care at a health clinic. Only 31 participants reported that they were addicted, but these 31 were pathological addicts. The study indicated that while this addiction was the least common type of addiction noted, those who indulged on the internet were more likely to develop other unreleated problematic habits, such as alchoholism, hard drug use, or marijuana addiction.

I'm sorry dude, but I was addicted to weed long before I was addicted to the internets. OCD maybe? Who knows? I don't have money to see a shrink when weed is $300/Z

Prohibition FTW!!

Please shut the fark up. I understand you like to get high and avoid the real world but please shut the fark up. The girl was told not to go to the meeting with the drug dealers, she went, she died. Boo hoo.

Sorry, but if you haven't smoked pot at least a few times, you've missed out on one of the things that make life worth living.

Say what you want about addiction, I know when you have fun, enjoy music, savor food, truly enjoy the people around you and wake up with nothing more than the pleasant memories of the night before, you've lived life the way it should be lived.

Yeah you can do the same things sans pot but when you've tried it, you'll realize the marked difference.

Not advocating, but it seems to me the people I work with who have probably never touched pot are more socially inept and as a result morans in their job.

Humble opinion etc.

We had my wife's sister living with us after her bone marrow transplant for myodysplasia (sp), she was on a battery of an Oxy and Percs cocktail, I forget the dosage but I figured out the street value of the Oxy's alone was 200K per yr, at $1 per mg if she sold em. She didn't.

Of course 3 times 0.0001 is only 0.0003. IOW, you are still VERY unlikely to develop schizophrenia and that's IF you accept that marijuana usage was causal to the schizophrenia. It's much more likely that schizophrenics seek out forms of self-medication.

HTH.

Digital Communist: Anyone who defends marijuana being illegal while not actively fighting to criminalize alcohol is a hypocrite.

...or just being an obedient little republican automaton.

After all, the Democrats have done so much to push towards decriminalization (let alone legalization) of marijuana.

How much did marijuana arrests go up once Clinton took office?

Oh, perhaps you didn't know this - and I don't have the exact figures offhand - but they went up a LOT - up to 750,000 marijuana arrests per year.

You're kidding yourself if you think it is only Republicans who are responsible for possession of marijuana remaining a crime.

Awesome Valdes

I will be smoking a fat bowl in your honor. Not for being a douche (I know you were baitin 'em hook line & sinker), but to thank you for proving how asinine most of those arguments and studies are involving addiction.

If most of the people actually read what he wrote, he didn't even mention marijuana among his posts (unless he was saying the "unnamed" addiction led to marijuana use). It could have been about coke, gambling or just a bunch of made up bullshiat.

Again kudos to you Valdes

//moderation. It's that often-ignored middle ground.

This is fine as long as you don't impose your definition of "moderation" on others. You know, one man's "bowl" could be another man's "five." Doesn't mean he has any intent to distribute, or anything.
