And of course they charged the grandma with assault, right?

This lady rocks. They should fit her into the Watchmen movie. 'The Shaker'

Wait, the Nanny State police didn't arrest her for violating the criminal's human rights?

I'd hit it like the fist of an angry Gran.

Exaggerated, misleading, one-sided news stories in my tabloids? It's more likely than you think.

I would give her 5:2 odds on a fight with Lennox Louis.

One has to wonder how many people misread her grandsons name as Simian, Simeon is a biblical name and all, but damn, isn't that just a little too close?

/not a racist by any stretch, but it is an unfortunate name none the less.

Nice story. Got her purse back.

There's something distasteful about beating druggies to a pulp, even when 78 year olds do it. I'm glad she didn't do that.

I'm not sure what "rocks" about her. The fact she could out run someone?

At her age (or any age), she should have had the wisdom to let the purse go. Is the contents of the purse worth being shot, stabbed, or hospitalized for?

Personally, I just think she was very lucky with the outcome.

Because small-time British crooks are often armed to the teeth, and won't hesitate to stab an old woman in front of witnesses.

You'd think that thugs would have learned by now the folly of trying to rob old people who have lead full lives and are just running out the clock now.

shiat, if I was 78 years old I think I'd rather go out beating the crap out of a mugger than crapping in my depends in a hospital bed hooked up to machines.

2008-07-24 07:46:27 AM
You know, somehow I was expecting something different when I saw "78-year old woman" and "snatch" in the same sentence. Especially after the twat stuff the other day. I guess it's that type outside the box thinking that gets me in trouble. Then again, as surely as the beavers and snappers laugh at the stubbing of a camel toe, they surely won't laugh at hairy axe wounds and the prospect of getting served up a nice hot hair pie. Sorry if I've been pussyfooting around.

In what? The 100m? The 400m? A 26k marathon?

The editor needs an apology beaten out of him.

Her grandson will race at the Beijing Olympics as Britain's number one sprinter. He clocked a personal best of 10.03sec at the recent Olympic trials right behind his grandmother who had 9.43sec.

You're right. It's better to just beat them to death and be done with them.

I loved the bonus 'back in my day' quote from her. She's officially on my list of heros, along with the lady last year that held theives up at gunpoint as she steadied herself with her cane!

Why? Her grandson was called a sprinter. Sprinters run 100m. I've never seen someone sprint for an entire marathon.

maybe you could learn something here.
