Those whiney pseudo-punk kids all need to be taken out and beaten.

Oh wait, that's emu, not emo.

Nevermind.

Mark my words, this is the beginning of the end. The revolution has come. All hail our new emu masters.

2002-12-09 03:46:14 AM
Call me mint jelly, 'cause I'm on the lam!

Serial:

I had an "aspiring emo musician" as a roommate last year. The best (read: worst) part is when he would lock himself in our garage for 2 hours on end singing. He actually sounded a lot like that guy from The Get Up Kids. To him, that was a good thing.

To this day, no other form of music causes me to feel as violent as when I hear emo. I always wanna puch something afterwards...

The alpachas are the muscle, it is the emu who are the brains of the revolution.

2002-12-09 04:03:19 AM
AL? AL PACA? Damn, I haven't seen You since high school! So, how's the sweater business?

People - random question. The times displayed next to our posts in these threads.... Where in the US are they set to?

I saw one of those walking around in the street once. It looked like something off of Jurrasic Park. People were kind of following it, but they were afraid to go up to it. I think it was somebody's escaped pet or friend or something. Weirdass thing. They should have called Steve Irwin.

Eastern Standard.

2002-12-09 04:05:19 AM
Well, Drew et al are in Lexington, KY, which I believe is still Eastern Time...

ExDread I'm pretty sure Santa gets them. How else do You think "He knows when You are sleeping"?

2002-12-09 04:06:26 AM
Who here is pronouncing it ee-moo, and who's saying eem-you? Think carefully; much pain results from a wrong answer.

Matchbook
Wow, did I really butcher the spelling of Alpachas that bad?

Albert Paca phoned. He wants you to stop using his name.

As far as I know, it's 'alpaca', not 'alpacha'. There also exist llamas ('yamas') and vicunas (with the ~ over the n). This is what happens when we let the Spanish name animals.

At least the Welsh weren't involved. With that spelling, llamas would be called 'klamas', only instead of a k-sound, it's more like a hairball sound.

Bloody brythonics.

"I spotted a dead emu by the side of the road...."

ExDread OOPS too much beer, too much work. The way I read it at 1st, I thought it said "where are they sent to?".
My appologies everyone.

I know that no one in Australia says ee-moo.

Mmmmmm, emu with lamb.

2002-12-09 04:13:37 AM
They either need to proofread their articles better or figure out that trio is three and duo is two.

Emus can be like ninja. I was in the foreign country of Texas on a drive thru safari thing and one tried to come through an open window. First the head and neck, then it tried to use its emu ninja magic to get the rest of its body in.

2002-12-09 04:15:47 AM
Stupid
It could be Jurasik Park, but that's a different type of dinosaur. It's right next door to Katsulas Park. At first they tried to drive each other out of business, but then they just started bickering like the Odd Couple. They're still damn fine actors, I mean parks.

MrSquiggly Say, do you have a pencil in your nose?
I know that no one in Australia says ee-moo.

I know that too, which is why I asked. Eem-you is the proper Aussie pronounciation. Ee-moo is just illiteracy. It's like calling Deutschland "Germany".

2002-12-09 04:17:11 AM
Thanks peeps

2002-12-09 04:17:24 AM
Do I have a pencil in my nose? What does that mean?

MrSquiggly
Ahh, I understand now.

Good, 'cause I've got that song stuck in my head now.

That show's been going for 40 years. I'm still impressed that a guy leaning over the top of a set can draw pictures with a puppet's nose.

2002-12-09 04:28:46 AM
I was quite offended for a second there. I was about to write, "Are you refering to me as stupid, sir? Well I can assure you, I don't have to listen to that sort of talk!" But then I realized it was the first part of my login name.

I blame my brief confusion on the cheese, of course. Too much cheese. Or not enough.

2002-12-09 04:29:25 AM
on a totally unrelated note...there should be comment sections for the admin wishlists. somebody needs to tell drew that kevin smith sucks.

2002-12-09 04:30:44 AM
This almost sounds like it could make a childrens book. "The Little Lost Emus" or something. If they were llamas, that would work with the title better...

2002-12-09 04:37:23 AM
Shostie
You mean, of course, the Llittle Llost Llamas.

"Llook out, Llarry! It's the llandllord!" - Llamas at home, The Far Side.

2002-12-09 04:40:53 AM
Well, yeah. But these are emus we're dealing with. How about a 50's-themed horror flick entitled, "The Encounter with the Enormous Escaped Emus!"

2002-12-09 04:44:59 AM
Bondith, you made me spit Sierra Mist out my nose, it burns, I no longer like you.

I've turned HTML off. You get the idea.

<*makes chalk mark on wall*>

Aww, and we were getting on so well, too.

Dare I ask what Sierra Mist is?

2002-12-09 06:13:14 AM
if they make their way up to grand rapids i'm gonna buy them beers!

2002-12-09 06:48:27 AM
How many emus does it take to change a light bulb?

14.

Seriously.

2002-12-09 07:36:39 AM
Oh no...not...EMUS?!!

2002-12-09 07:42:47 AM
Well, there's a WHOLE lot more than a "trio" of the damn ugly birds running loose here in Michigan.

I was driving to work one morning, and had one run out across the road in front of me once.

Seems there were a lot of farmers in the area (Southeast- to mid- Michigan) who got caught up in the Emu ranching craze 15 years ago; when the market panned out, many lost track of the things and they ran wild. There aren't many predators to take care of them, either.

2002-12-09 07:46:50 AM
...oh, and on a totally different track, I heard there are about 23,000 EMUs on the loose in Ypsilanti.

2002-12-09 08:30:12 AM
Bring me the monkey from yesterday and these emus, the animal revolution has BEGUN!

2002-12-09 10:44:00 AM
*sigh*
Lesser Evil beat me to the Eastern Michigan University comment.

2002-12-09 10:57:28 AM
Send the emus over here to england, we take anything that doesn't have teeth better than us!!!

2002-12-09 11:18:02 AM
This is really amazing, but I LIVE in Niles and I'm at the Niles Southwestern Michigan College campus right now...its a small town too. What are the chances I'd see a fark story about my hometown? I have not yet seen the emus myself...

LesserEvil, I have no idea where the heck you're from, but I've never seen an emu outside of a zoo, and I saw one farm once that had them.

2002-12-09 12:19:49 PM
I didn't know Emus could survive Michigan's 11 months of winter.

2002-12-09 01:06:02 PM

2002-12-09 01:07:02 PM
grrr

2002-12-09 04:11:56 PM
I have a friend that ate a Emu once. Some cowboys in spurs offered him a Emu so he bbqed it up and ate it with some A1. He said it had the texure of beef.
