Tag is also for my chances of watching an exhibition baseball game.

2008-07-15 08:38:02 PM
Argh, I submitted another one. Didn't see this one. I just hope one gets greenlit.

Come on National League!

2008-07-15 08:40:09 PM
Lets go Cubs/NL!

2008-07-15 08:40:20 PM
Pretty amazing opening with all the legends. People I didn't realize were still alive: Ralph Kiner, Willie McCovey, Dick Williams.

Also never thought I'd see Luis Aparacio and Sheryl Crow in the same place, but there you go. Actually I never thought about it at all.

Hey, did anybody hear that this is the last All Star Game at Yankee Stadium? That's neato! Let's repeat it a few hundred more times!

2008-07-15 08:41:49 PM
That music is pissing me off.

2008-07-15 08:42:25 PM
who was that corpse representing MLB behind home plate with the managers, holy crap that guy looked to be about 103

2008-07-15 08:42:27 PM
Fox blows ass. The pregame show should be a pregame show, not take up the first 40 minutes of the farking game.

/Yogi Berra was the only good part about that debacle
//and the stealth bomber

Oh, go untwist your panties. I didn't know this one would go green.

2008-07-15 08:42:28 PM
wow, hearing the crowd chant Reggie's name again, that was pretty neat.

Now we have to actually listen to Buck and McCarver call a game. Kill me now.

2008-07-15 08:42:36 PM
joe buck makes me want to vomit.

2008-07-15 08:42:38 PM
Yankees fans stayed classy, just until the lineup announcement...

//next AL hosting ASG should be at the HHH Meterodome, forget Yankee Stadium

2008-07-15 08:43:07 PM
I was kinda hoping the stealth bomber would tactically eliminate Buck and McCarver

Yeah, this.

Couldn't this have started, I don't know, 40 minutes ago so the game could start at the advertised time? Thanks.

I'd take the whole f**king stadium, personally.

I thought the appearance of Big Stein would bring the house down

Was it just the mics or was that response a little....luke warm?

Ug. This.

2008-07-15 08:45:54 PM
add me to the list of people intending to watch the game with the sound off.

The all-star game Fark threads have been my favorites the last couple years, so there's no way I'd miss this.

OK Cubs rookies, time to represent.

/don't let Marmol pitch

2008-07-15 08:46:32 PM
MLB really knows how to do a pre-game right on a gig like this. That was pretty awesome.

Yeah, but they were louder chanting "Yogi!"

Now we have to actually listen to Buck and McCarver call a game. Kill me now.

No kidding. Wish I could pick up the radio broadcast. Maybe a little later I can track it down.

priestrape: I thought the appearance of Big Stein would bring the house down

I thought it was kind of comical that he rode in on a 6-seater golf cart to some faux-John Williams majestic music. The kicker was the old dudes greeting him with a kiss like he were the Pope.

2008-07-15 08:49:40 PM
Cliff Lee as the starting pitcher. *snort*

Noticed he completely ignored Josh Hamilton, how does THAT happen? Is he senile, or just being an ass? That was disappointing.

Barry Bonds and Willie Mays went to the same school of interpersonal relations

As much as I have always had a thing for Brendan Fraser, that new Mummy movie looks like it is going to outsuck just about everything else this summer.

No Barry Bonds, the man must be holding him down, wasn't it Mays sucking Bonds wang last year?
