Ben Affleck is hooking up with all these chicks because he can't make a relationship work?

Geez...I wonder if Jennifer Garner knows about this...

(I knew he was farking Jimmy Kimmel, but I thought he was loyal to Jennifer other than that)

I always heard if you weren't cheating on your wife you were gay.
Biologically it makes sense too, all those wonderfully symmetric people walking around with their superior genetic material (or at least appearing so with the aid of cosmetics) I'd rather be a 9 in Boise than a LA 4.

Firefly was a bunch of utter crap. It really was terrible, I couldn't make it past half an episode. Western in space, what a completely shiate idea.

/Really am serious, it was a horrible show.

THIS.

Lord knows if I ever got into a movie with Rachel Weisz I would at the very least flirt my ass off, even if my physical appeal is somewhere between Don Rickles and Clint Howard.

I've noticed that with a few interviews I've read. My guess is that it sounds alot more natural in conversation then it does read on the page.

Meh, who knows.

It was canceled before I saw an episode, and I refuse to pay for DVDs I haven't seen.

I did not like firefly at first, but forced myself to watch it with an open mind. And it became a great show. Great chracters and great plot.

All great sci fi tends to be western based in the sense it that most are great epic tales.

Star Trek - Captain Kirk is akin to a space sheriff, flying around the universe policing up the bad guys

BattleStar - Adam is a Texas ranger doing his best to save his people from a threat, while maintaining order, in not so traditional manners.

Here in the US we all grew up on westerns because thos tails of man breaking trail, wind at his back, and staking out his own piece of land, are not that far in the past.

And space is the only territory we have left. So it makes sense. And americans relate to the old west. Where it was wild and wooly, hard days work for pay.

All epics are the same. Just the venue is different.

I love Red Dwarf as a show, but it really is low brow humor with a bit of intelligence and slapstick, the sci-fi is an afterthought. Two weird guys(lister and the cat) and their gay buddy) the Kryten. The Odd Couple in space.

As for Bruce. I have it on good authority he nailed this chick. I went to high school with her. She was an animator at Disney, the official Xena look alike, and the Model for the Spawn playing cards.

I went to high school with her. One of the hottest nerd women you will ever meet.

After a great deal of harassment from my good friends, out of respect for their usual choices of show, I sat and watched the entirety of Firefly, and the movie Serenity over the course of a week a couple months ago. I enjoyed about 4 episodes quite a lot - namely the episodes that felt like a pure sci-fi show. I liked the movie as well. I absolutely loathed the rest of the series. The whole western in space style really felt like a cop-out for writing a richer story, and the story lines didn't intrigue all that much. All in all, I can definitely see why the show was cancelled, and really can't fathom why people are so obsessed over it.

i agree. it wasnt gods gift to mankind. it was a decent tv show with some good moments and plenty of campy bad moments that, with relevence to the thread, couldnt hold a candle to some of bruce campbells campy moments. some of the better characters were very under utilized and some of the most used characters were poorly acted(summer glau works as a terminator because of how wooden her acting is).

in ranking quality of the first season, i put earth final conflict over it, and thats not saying much.

No, it was good. It just seemed a bit too obvious as trollbait.

I dunno, maybe if you said something like "Evil Dead would've been better with Crispin Glover as Ash..." perhaps that would angry up the blood.

I think they were just simply using a speech-to-text program to transcribe the interview for them, and they never actually bothered to edit it. Thus there was not only misspellings, use of the word "t" and "he," and multiple mistakes involving "their" and "there."

I loved the "Evil Dead" movies and I saw "Army of Darkness" in the theatre. I didn't yet realize the awesomeness I was witnessing. Also, I really enjoy "Burn Notice". It's one of the few things I can talk to my 14 yr. old son about that doesn't involve video games. We think Sam is funny.

/Couldn't read all of the interview...I can be a Grammer Nazi when I read.

He is fully aware of his shortcomings as an actor, and embraces them wholly. That's what makes him such a cool dude. That, and the fact that he got to kiss Lucy Lawless...

Besides giving us some great movies, Bruce Campbell also invented the Rum Dinger:

"I made up my own drink. It's called the Rum Dinger. It's dark rum, like Myers, mixed with Kahlúa and ginger ale, on the rocks. Three equal parts. It's interesting to test bartenders, because they think they know everything and that they've heard it all. So I walk in and ask them to make me a Rum Dinger and no one has a clue what I'm talking about. Then when I tell them what's in it, they say, 'Oh, I should try that.' Hopefully, it'll catch on and you will start to hear people ask for a Rum Dinger."

That's why he's so cool... he knows that and doesn't care. As long as he's getting enough to live on, he's fine w/ that.

I saw him when he was doing a book tour for "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor". He was at the University of Washington bookstore. A few hundred fans showed up. During the Q & A, he brought up a movie called "Assault On Dome 4", your basic 2PM on Sunday Sci-Fi channel fare. He said that he was up for the lead hero role, but after reading the script he asked to be the villain. "The hero was all stoic and boring... lots of one word responses. The bad guy had all kinds of monologues and one liners. That looked like way more fun to me." He also said he's really humbled to have so many fans.

Plus, adding to his aura of mega-win, most authors would have stopped signing and cut out when the store closed (at 9PM)... Bruce stayed until everyone's [book + one other item] was signed. Around 10PM he came down the line with a bowl of little candies and threw handfuls out to the crowd, thanking us for our patience. I finally had my book signed at 1:30 AM (with dozens of people still behind me). When you came to the table, he stood up and shook your hand hand. You got to sit down next to him, and he talked to you while he signed your stuff (I brought my copy of Evil Dead 2). You could then have a picture taken with him if you brought your camera. Then he stood up with you and shook your hand again as you left. The man is a prince among men.

To echo Surool, I would suggest picking up his books. They're great stuff. I don't know if "Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way" was shadowwritten, but it was very entertaining(worth much more than the bargain bin paperback it was).

Bruce Campbell does camp like he understands camp. That makes him highly respectable.

Burn Notice is actually a decent TV show. It's not brilliant, but for a procedural it's a creative procedural.

And to insult Firefly is an affront to absolute perfection.

Haha, man I rule.

Think Bruce managed to lose some weight from season 1 to season 2, I'm kinda thinking that's most of the reason of him wearing such a small shirt in the Season 2 premiere. Sure the script says he's poking fun at Michael by wearing his 'little shirts' but I think its due to the fact that season 1 Bruce couldn't have FIT in the shirt.
