Did you mean potion (in dictionary) or Potion (in encyclopedia)?

Adults complaining about all-star rosters sound insane. This is something that is mostly voted on by 13-year-olds. It would be like adults complaining about the results of a most popular Pokemon survey.

People normally complain about things that don't matter.

Read the article, the biatching is about manager and player picks.

I assume none of you read TFA. The first entry is against a Red Sox player (Varitek).

Jason shouldn't be anywhere near the all-star game

And rightly so. Don't you people understand that it's the fans of Boston and New York that keep the league afloat?

I mean I can hardly keep up with you people that root for those other teams in Kankakee and Cucamonga or wherever the other 20 teams come from.

When players are traded from the Red Sox or Yankees I just assume they retired.

Um, how can there be a Yankees fetish when only three made it?

A-Rod -- Has had a great year so far
Jeter -- Avg. Year also a fan favorite
Rivera -- HOF closer and should be there (last few games SHAKY)

Other then that I hope Giambi makes it on the squad he had a solid start and on Mustache alone should make it.

As for 7 BoSox players making it Pedroia Youk and PapelBOMB should of made it .. ManRam(Manny being Manny) Ortiz(DL) Tek Drew .. you could of put some other people there

I love in the comments how someone said that "Rays fans should be ashamed of themselves"

hahahaha

Everyone knows that Rays fans are too old to even know how to work a computer, let alone link to the "interwebs"

And yet, not a single Yankee mentioned in an article full of valid points.

I really don't care much about baseball anymore, but I swear to God, how many farking times have the Yankees played the Red Sox? 50? And, is that all that's televised?

ALL The Rays fans DID vote, TWICE, but 380 votes can only take you so far. (the rest of Tampa is learning:
who the Rays are and what sport they play
where they play
who's on the roster)

plus the physical ballots have chads, and well, we all know how that goes in Florida. They probably voted for Varitek, by mistake.

note to subby:
if you're going to biatch about something, at least try to be marginally accurate about what you're biatch about.

No Yankees mentioned, and the first person thrown under the bus, rightfully so, is Jason Varitek. He calls a great game behind the plate, but right now he can't hit for shiat. Of course, he hasn't been able to hit for shiat after the break for a few years now.

2008-07-08 10:31:33 AM
it's a shame.
Giambi won't be there so he can't bring his mustache
A-Rod will be there, but without his beard

On an actual baseball note, Brandon Phillips is the best second basement we've seen in a generation, but he gets no consideration because he plays on a bad team in a city that doesn't touch an ocean.

He's not having a better year than Utley or Uggla, the only NL second basemen on the AS team from a team 'that touches an ocean'.

You need to find a different bias against your guy.

Sorry.

There is another league outside the AL ?

O kaptain, my kaptain;
How did you make the all star roster?

2008-07-08 11:21:49 AM
Justin Pedrino? Hes meh, Kinsler definitely deserved the start tho.

Im no Sox fan, and they are spot on about Varitek's power, but all catchers pretty well suck for power, and Varitek is one of the smartest pitch-callers out there. Sure he might go 0-fer, but hes probably gonna help get a few extra K's thanks to his brain.

2008-07-08 11:31:37 AM
If inter league play is any indication, then the AL will have home field for the WS this year.

Varitek is just bad lately, worse than the end of last year. With his decent start I had hopes that he would have mediocre production, but right now he's just awful. I'm glad Soto got the start for the AL team. He's nasty. Jose Molina is on fire right now behind the plate throwing out guys stealing second. I'd rather see him on the team than 'Tek. In short, I think the Sox should have kept Josh Bard and traded Varitek to the Padres for Mirabelli in 2006.

/Red Sox fan.
// Realistic Red Sox fan who gives credit where it's due.
/// Voted for Longoria to make the last player on the roster. Even voted for him over Lowell at third base on the regular ballot.
