Isn't that how people who buy things with stolen credit cards work? have the goods delivered to the wrong address then show up to pick it up.

I don't think FEDEX F'ed up the delivery, I just think the dealer was late to the pickup and the schill got curious.

/or something like that

USPS, not FedEx. And USPS can get a warrant almost immediately. So damned if ya do...

eno:ragnarqk:WhotheWhatNow:testsicles:Blaud:lks don't seem to understand that pot prices vary by region.

What?!? The government should put some kind of price controls on pot so that we all pay the same prices. It's not fair that some people pay more for pot than others. Supply and demand be damned.

sarcasm or not, THIS
Seconded.

Thirdled.

I'm glad to see that FedEx is beginning to approach the high quality standards that I've come to expect of UPS.

/srsly, FedEx is pretty reliable in my area, but when someone sends me something UPS, I *expect* something to get farked up.

Nice to know that some thief who would open someone else's mis-sent package decided to become a law-abiding citizen and turn in the pothead.

Came here to say that. What a piece of shiat. Even if it was something normal, such a scum bag move.

Oh and I had a little something delivered the other day from a friend. I tracked it with DHL and it said delivered, but there was nothing at the front door. So I called them right away and was running up and down the street trying to figure out if he left it at a neighbors or something.

Luckily about 5 minutes after I called them the guy showed up and had figured out where he left it and brought it to me. No idea how he just left at the complete wrong house though.

If we're on the subject of pot prices around these parts it's about 200$ for an ounce, with 300$ if you want the really primo stuff and 150$ for the bunk stuff.

2008-07-05 11:30:31 PM
I don't blame the guy for opening the package if he's expecting one. I mean, it's not like I ever pay attention to who the thing is sent to.

BTW, $300/oz is typical here, $275 if you're lucky, but at least it's usually good stuff(*cough cough* I hear, anyways...*cough*).

Anybody else find it odd that the person who received the packages opened them even though he knew they didn't belong to him?

2008-07-05 11:53:44 PM
I've mis-delivered packages on occasion, mostly around Christmas when I'm slammed beyond belief. Most of it was similar house numbers and streets. I've got six streets next to each other on my route with Easter in the name, along with a dozen groups of four or five similar names.

As for people opening boxes that aren't theirs, not surprised. I don't think most even look at the label. I mis-delivered a gift box of food and realized my mistake in about two minutes. By the time I got back to the house, the family had already opened the box and began consuming the food. It cost me $50 out of my paycheck, but what can I do? I'm the one that farked up.

Try DHL. You'll be lucky if you can get them to admit that they have the package. As for accurate and timely delivery, forget about it.

moralpanic:Anybody else find it odd that the person who received the packages opened them even though he knew they didn't belong to him?

They didn't necessarily know. A while ago, FedEx delivered a package of mine to my neighbours, who were also expecting a package from FedEx. I was left wondering where it was, until the neighbours received a second FedEx item and figured out the mistake.

Besides, people don't always check the labels on their mail.

texas price is $50/oz. for regs. i love living close to mexico... $50 for an 1/8 of good stuff.

The pif in NYC/NJ is pretty expensive - schwag for 300 an O and the good stuff runs 4 to 5. I miss the days when prices were down and variety was the norm. Everyone says their stuff is Sour D, and it's not. Regular Diesel (the bud, not heroin) is better anyway, more trippier.

/Anyone know a c'nect for good, cheap bud in NYC?

But, wait.. FedEx NEVER EVER EVER delivers to the wrong address!!! I mean it is impossible... even if their own paperwork shows they delivered it in ANOTHER STATE!!! So, that must mean the cops are liars.

They don't. Their polar opposites are the ones who won't accept delivery until we tell them what's in the package... as if we know.

/You haven't lived until someone asks you what kind of "secret information" about them is contained in the ASTRA barcode

"Police tell The (Baltimore) Sun that they were tipped off on Tuesday when four boxes containing 200 pounds of marijuana were mistakenly delivered to a northeast Baltimore resident. The resident opened one of the boxes and discovered the shrink-wrapped weed."

Why must these things be delivered to the Flanders's residence?

2008-07-06 01:28:48 AM
400 lbs. would be something like this:

You know, a pretty happy weekend and a massive headache on Monday.

ComicBookGuy:Why must these things be delivered to the Flanders's residence?

Personally I would call the cops too, because either
1) I've gotten a shipment from a dealer and if they want their stuff back, they can be nasty about it, not every weed dealer is the old hippie in the VW Bus. I wouldn't exactly want the Mongols or MS-13 mad at me.

2) It's a sting, send the weed to a house, wait a couple days then raid..

derbtastic:What jackarse opens mail delivered to them on accident? It clearly didn't have their name or address on it. Honestly...

And what kind of strange person calls the cops to say "Yo, officer, someone FedEx'ed 200 lbs of pot to my house, and like an idiot I signed for it. You wanna come pick it up?"

I'd leave the package on my doorstep, make an anonymous call to the cops, and take a long weekend to someplace very very far away, like Outer Mongolia, and for the reasons Disgruntled Dave gave above. Either some gangsters ordered it and now they want it back, or the DEA is already on their way.

I don't want to be anyplace NEAR my home when the feds arrive, or the Crips, or whoever. In fact, I might never come back.

Article doesn't mention that 300 pounds were sent, 200 was reported to police.

Buy in bulk. That would be average for that far north.

But then I'm into booze.

I haven't touched the stuff in half a dozen years. Not my thing at my age now. I just remember $35-40 for 8th. (3 fingers on the baggie if they like ya, 2 if they don't). But Portland's pretty well known for it's herb.

/shrug/

I don't even drink that much anymore. Come to think of it, I'm pretty boring these days.

$1200 per pound?
$75 per ounce?
$9.38 per eighth?

Where is it that cheap? I'd think it's closer to $5,000/lb USD

Yeah, I love paying 20 Questions with the senior citizens:

Are you sure you have the right address?
Who's it addressed to?
Who's it from?
What's in it?
And on and on.

You should meet the guy next door to me. His claim is if it's in his mail box, no matter who's name is on it, it's his. The postal authorities were not amused. He tried to cash a check made out to me, and when caught, he said he never noticed MY NAME on the check. This is way I now pay for a lock box at the post office. This is the same guy who left his toilet run for six months with out reporting it. When the landlord gave him a water bill for $700, his claim was he wasn't a plumber and didn't know that water running for six months was a problem, so he didn't have to pay. He did pay it, with help from welfare dept, because he suffers from stress and is in therapy. I often wonder what he would do if he smelled gas?
