I was unaware that pastors only married people within their political party.

Not even remotely ironic. Even if Fred Phelps endorsed Obama, that wouldn't be ironic; it would merely be unlikely. In fact, it wouldn't even be ironic if a pastor endorsed an atheist, unless the pastor endorsed him BECAUSE he was an atheist (and even then, it's debatable).

Of course, if you RTFA, it's not even a pro-Obama website; it's an anti-Dobson website. Plenty of pastors dislike Dobson.

This is hereby a FAIL thread.

Do you get email alerts when the ironic tag is submitted or something?

O my Fark, I am heartily sorry
for having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins,
because of thy just punishment,
but most of all because they
offend Thee, and your sense of irony,
Who are all-good and deserving
and know exactly when to use the "IRONIC" tag.
I firmly resolve, with the help
of Thy grace to get a better sense of irony,
to do penance
and to amend my life. Amen.

I've actually registered a pro-Obama website that is *VERY* similar to his existing official sites. What should I do with it?

I remember hearing that this pastor was pro-Obama (prObama?) back when the wedding occured. Some have even speculated Jenna may be supporting him, being greatly different than her father and all.

Thirded, but only because fail threads are the best, and for this reason I really miss SuperDeluxe.

Are you saying that people's political and social beliefs don't fall easily on one side of the arbitrary line between the arbitrary political categories of "liberal" and "conservative"?

Color me shocked.

I still don't see how this is ironic, or newsworthy for that matter.

Hmmm... not sure. I forget, did it raaaaiiiiiaaaaaiin on Jenna's wedding day?

Seriously, what is it with pastors in this election cycle? They're the most irrelevant people on earth, and no one should give a flying fark what they say or do.

It's not a sense of irony, it's looking in a damn dictionary. Don't pretend this is insanely difficult linguistic problem that you have no hope of solving. But whatever, it's amusing watching subbys get owned over the irony tag, so feel free to carry on.

This gem comes from the comments section of the linked article:

It does not take long to trace anything related to Senator Obama to extreme left thinking and communists, whether that be his father, his mother, uncle Frank, Bill Ayers and friends, or Black pseudo- theologists. He and a few other senators would nationalize business and socialize the nation as we become part of the "global economy". This same thinking infected the established protestant churches, major media, universities, unions, part of the catholic churches, Islamic extremists, and good part of most law schools. Senator Obama is a product of this thinking. He does not seem particularly bright or even in charge of his own destiny. He is merely a puppet handled by those who have been trying to destroy American self-interest and culture, independence, and the free enterprise system. Dobson is a well informed and well regarded conservative Christian leader. Being a Christian has lost its traditional meaning. You can only know the difference between the right and left Christians by their position on abortion. Obama spend twenty years in a church that preached "Choice." He rationalizes away much of the new testament Bible to support his politics, as do all of the left minded "Christians." Most Baptists and born again independent churches think very little about Protestant and Catholic politics disguised as religion. Dobson has the courage to call Obama on it.

TruBlu, is that you?

If I may troll for a moment:

According to FARK, religious people are stupid, and this guy is supporting Obama, so... Obama supporters are stupid?

/ Carry on

It's not the least bit ironic that a black preacher and a white girl who got knocked up out of wedlock are supporting Obama.

/seriously WTF is this guy's problem?

Falcc: Some have even speculated Jenna may be supporting him, being greatly different than her father and all.

There'd be nothing surprising about Jenna supporting Obama. Thwarting McCain's Presidential ambitions is an old Bush family tradition.

Heh. I hear she's pregnant with a black baby.

Dear Subby

You fail at the simple task of being even the lowest form of intelligent life.

But have a nice time with your computer.

Exactly, who cares.

Props to the Bushies for there first hire ever of someone who's background was not thoroughly checked to make sure that he never did anything pro-democrat.

-1 for mixing religion and politics.
+1 for trying to balance out or negate the religion and politics already mixed.

Net Sum: 0

Oh well.
