Dennis Leary, when he was sorta funny:

"And I'll tell you something else right now. I have the solution to the drug problem in this country. Nobody wants to hear it, but I have it. Not less drugs, more drugs. Get more drugs, and give 'em to the right farking people. Mmm mm, cuz every time you hear about some famous guy overdosing on drugs, it's always some really talented guy. It's always like Len Bias, or Janis Joplin, or Jimi Hendrix, or John Belushi. You know what I mean!? The people you wanna have overdose on drugs never would! Like Motley Crue would never farking overdose man, never! You could put them in a room with two tons of crack. They come out a half an hour later, "Rock on man!" "shiat, they're still alive. fark! They're probly gonna make another double-live album now, God dammit!"

Motley Crue is not classic rock.

They're a hair band.

Though the difference may be subtle, they are not classic rock. It's like McDonald's selling salads--it doesn't make it healthy despite the label.

They are a hair band but they're a couple steps above Winger and Poisonous White Dragon Snake or whoever. The Crue was goofy but they had some chops. Not every band in that era can be dismised quite so easily.

This is the first time I have ever seen this Greta lady. I have to ask, what's with not moving her lower jaw when she talks? Has she always been like this or did she have rubber bands put in her mouth? Does she puree everything and eat through a straw?

I will say I liked how MC was giving her a hard time though.

I dunno, check the playlists on some of the nation's classic rock stations, and you might find out that you're just getting old. The music you listened to 20 years ago is probably getting played on a classic rock station just because it's old now. It's not just from the 60s and 70s anymore, they play a lot of 80s and 90s shiat.

Just cause it's old now and classic rock stations play it does not make it classic rock. Because then you can say the same thing about Poison, and then I would have to kill myself.

There's a difference between oldies and classic as a programming format.

Immigrant Song and Close to You are roughly contemporary. Immigrant Song is classic rock, Close to You is Oldies. You can commit the No True Scotsman all that you want, Motley Crue is classic rock at this point.

HEY!

Okay... I got laid, that's all that mattered to me.

I paid to see Def Leppard and they put on an awesome show. Also Def Leppard is not a hair band. And while they loved 70s glam bands, they aren't a glam band either.

Ace Frehley's Ghost: but the time that I saw them was a helluva party.

Which was the point. They never tried to be or pretended to try to be on the level of Zeppelin or Van Halen or whoever. They were just out to have a good time. That was the whole point. Whatever happen to just having fun?

Right, Def Leppard sucked way harder than the hair bands. All the Depeche Mode kids "hated the rockers, but Def Leppard was okay."
