Starryeyes: i know, i know. i really meant that at first glance one would not immediately be able to gauge my level of nerdiness because i hide it well.

Trust us... nerdy hot you are and definately welcomed.....glass is not the only thing we'd ask for you to be blowing.

SarahL: That all depends.

Depends... on what!?!

it's like a Lemarchand box.... you have such sights to show me right?

territ: Oooh. Kind of a like a Choose your Own Adventure Book?

You come upon a hot nerd girl in the forest. She is wearing only a tattered loin cloth and a coconut bra that can barely cover her bountiful womanhood. She beckons you over with a long, slender finger.

To run up to her without hesitation and rip the coconuts off, turn to page 27.

To be cautious and avoid the sure-fire trap that you know awaits, lurking in her evil mind, turn to page 6.

/would SO turn to page 27

Hot!

Sir Vanderhoot:

That is wonderful!

I always pick a gender neutral name on forums. Partly for the reason in your cartoon and partly because I really love to debate and find that many males won't really engage me in a serious discussion if they know I'm female.

Once I have established who I am I can usually reveal my gender and still participate as fully as I like but there are still many posters who will change the way they interact with me once they know I don't have a penis.

Things have gotten way better than they used to be though.

Someone help me out on this one. There was this really short lived TV show with a bunch of hackers that did stuff for some organization, there was a nerdy girl on the team that was absolutly hot. One episode she did some work as a web cam girl and another episode she was in an airplane electrical conduit looking for a bomb then bent completely in half to get down to the bomb (or something, I was distracted by the bendiness). What was that TV show, and who was that girl?

Try online gaming. Once upon a time, when the earth was still young, there were play by mail gaming sessions. There are nerds older than me lurking in this thread waiting for a chance to talk about their epic campaigns.

RPoL.net

Thanks for the link.

With my PC or console games, I have never had the desire to play with or against other people but I will check that out.

Some games have been going on there for years. Some start up and die off in a couple of months...

Forget about nerd/anti-nerd girl issues.

The reality is, "nerds" are not, all of a sudden, sexy de facto. Unless the person is sexy to begin with, they are not now sexy because they have a degree in Chemical Engineering.

What has happened is "nerdiness" has simply failed to disqualify someone from being sexy as it may have done in the past (wrongfully, to be sure).

End of story.

Now....when will the due attention be paid to the amazons of the world?

Just because they have glasses doesn't make them a nerd girl. A real nerd girl would never be considered hot. If she could be considered hot in appearance, then she wouldn't be a nerd girl.

You guys are waaaaaay late to the mythic BIE/WIE thread.

Also known as the thread that ruined fark, at least by those who missed it.

I caught it at a mere 180-some posts, before it blew the f*ck up. (i'm so original, I know!) There was quite a flood of sponsored, half-wit Farkettes (and Alts) that appeared on TF in the days following. It made for some entertaining, welcome-thread meat grinders. No long term effects on either liter or total Fark.

Stepped away from the thread to do some actual work, and when I came back the thread asploaded! Too much to go through but if any of the farkettes wanna send BIE I am more than willing to receive your nerdy hotness!

mrtoadswildride: Doing math/science is not the only thing that is nerdy. Try talking to someone about the common law history of habeas corpus, or get excited about scrutiny tests: a "law nerd" is a nerd is a nerd.

/gets made fun of for being a law nerd
//wishes "math nerds" weren't so elitist

I'm currently in law school, (honest)...But Law school doesn't even begin to compare with engineering school...it's just doesn't. I'm not going to say law school is easy or that its a joke, because it's not. It's a lot of work (probably an insane amount of work at top school, which I don't go to) ....but it just doesn't even come close with the math/science type degrees.

/Trying to explain engineering school to a non-engineer is like trying to explain what it feels like to get kicked in the balls...

Damn, I like yours better.

But the girl in the story would be just as likely to rip it off as to cuddle it.

I always seemed to choose the story branch that led to my immediate death. I'd have to end up going back and chosing the lamer option.
