Yeah but do geeky girls consider geeky guys sexy? Maybe it's a one-way street.

Supercheeks: It sure as hell is fun to watch.

What can I say? I love people watching. It's part of the reason I go to con's (Otakon is next).

/that and the Friday night drunken booze fest

Wait, you get off when people watch you LARP? Do they applaud? "Hey, nice invisible lightning bolt buddy!"

SarahL: samimgreen: NERO then SOLAR, Atlanta... playing monsters was more fun anyway

There wasn't any real group that I LARP'd with. It was about thirty of us that would just get together, rent a cabin in the woods, and create our own fantasy scenarios. Most of the time I was the only chick there. It was... Interesting? I just liked running around and hitting people. I haven't done it in years. These days you're more likely to find me sitting in a book store's science section reading with a very large cup of coffee.

Been about 10 years for me... Book store science section? Nah, I usually hit the Calvin and Hobbes before getting my large mocha extra shot. You keep your science, I'll keep my transmogrifier...

/And science is for TV and the cool graphis "Universe" FTW

for i am a man and i love boobies and i feel no shame in my confession.

Brown Sauce: Nerd girl pic ≠ whore in glasses pic

This'n! Neither is it an actress who once played a nerdy character.

Though they can be both.
Since TFA mentioned Willow from Buffy, I had to think of Amber Benson (Tara on Buffy).
picturebay.net

Besides some other stuff, there's her self-produced/written/directed movies, books, comic books, fantasy cartoon (apparently with a RPG in the works).

Oh, and the obligatory behind the scenes skin mag photoshoot "for the 15-yo-boys out there" part one, part two (might be NSFW)

Zimmy: SarahL: I've never played D&D, but there is no way in hell I'd force a boyfriend to give it up. There are a lot worse things a guy can do two nights a week than play D&D with his friends. That's just ridiculous.
Besides, D&D nights would be perfect times to masterbate and watch UFC.

Why can't more people share that amount of common sense? Not a fan of UFC, or wrestling for that matter, but I could see why you'd like it.

Two nights a week?

My D+D nerd friends play 3-4 a week, minimum.

Evidently that game is more addictive than crack.

I'm just assuming that going to a club and hoping to find one would be the proverbial diamond in the rough. And work is always dangerous.

For what it's worth, I found mine at a card shop.

I smoked her at Armored Core, though. :)

I doubt that. You probably have enough self awareness to know where you fit in. You should also add some things to your profile so we can all get to know you.

Nah... I take books from other sections with me... Science usually the quietest and where I'm least likely to be harassed by the weird smelly guy who also frequents the book store. And makes it a point to say hi and grin a lot in a leering creepy sort of way every time he sees me.

vodka: Yeah but do geeky girls consider geeky guys sexy? Maybe it's a one-way street.

Nope, they definitely do. Just as long as you get a nerd girl who is nerdy for the nerddom, and not to be popular.

I consider myself to be much more of a video game nerd, a Star Wars dork, and a programmer geek poser. But I'm trying to work on that last part.

_I_ can't really afford the gas to do it that often... for me, it's a 15 mile drive one way.
_THEY_, however, play 3 days a week. The most any of them drive is only 5 miles, though. So my characters have to 'report' to the higher ups every now and then... Or enter the portal to the land of toilets. Either way.

Futurama? I thought getting that kind of reference was a given...nerdy or otherwise.

I suppose that I just expected the obvious response. Carry on.

factoryconnection:

I got my degree at Penn State, and never felt the need to lament that there weren't enough chicks in my engineering classes. You know why? Because there were 5 other colleges (at least) on the same campus full of women! Even at the Cesspool of the West, I'm sure you can see thousands of hotties just walking from your dorm/apt to class every day. And, honestly, I'm an IE, so there were chicks in my classes. LOL.

Either way, a genuine brainiac engineer can find happiness with a psychologist, anthropologist, chemist, nurse, poli sci, or any other woman you might find outside of the engineering group. I'm living proof. You have plenty of time (read: the rest of your career) to be surrounded by dudes in engineering. Do you really need to date one?

A big part of the problem is that that's where all of my time is taken up. Either with my engineering friends, or my athlete friends where the difficult part isn't finding an attractive girl, it's in finding a girl that I enjoy having a conversation with (the opposite problem as my engineering friends). Again with both situations there are a couple of girls that I know that I would jump at the chance for, but none are single. Six in one hand, half a dozen in the other.
