DUDE, some churchy ran over his FREAKING DOG! I would probably shoot up the church If I were him.....

Jesus killed his dog.

If someone ran over my pup and didn't stop, I'd show them the wrath of God. fark the jerk who knew he hit something and didn't stop. It could just as easily have been a kid that he hit, but since he's going to church, of course it's all going to be alright...

biatch ass holy rolling hypocrites...grrr

I saw our frat house dog get run over in college and the SOB in his big ass Cadillac didn't stop. If he did I'd have beat the shiat out of him.

Don't have a dog, but I can sympathize.

Used to live in an apartment where they had unscheduled inspections. One day they left my damn door open. luckly, my cat, Kali, didn't leave, get lost, run over.

I moved out the next day.

Mme.Mersault: just leave word perfect open and type it there paste it here, instant spell check.

"We just couldn't understand the intrusion like that for what had happened."

Ummm....excuse me! You just flattened the guys best friend! Real compassionate Christians.

Also, separation of Church and State; Although I think celf-censorship is OK. Remember the thread on the mom getting upset at the poster at Victoria's Secret because her son was ogling it? I posted about the headless, armless, legless mannaquinns on the Wal-Mart circulars. We had a field day!

Agreed that the dog should have been on a leash, but does that make it okay for the guy to leave a situation where something serious (THUD! Boom! Boom!) has happened?
Accept responsibility!

I'm waiting for the Jack Chick version of this story!

my old dog, Edie, along with some horribly high percentage like 80% of Jack Russels, was hit by a car. The person who hit her didnt stop, but the lady in back of the person who hit her did. The lady put edie on the side of the road after discovering that she was dead and nothing else could be done, then she went to every door on our street and asked if they owned a small dog with a black face. Turned out it was mine. It's a very hard thing losing a dog. Its even harder knowing the person who did it didnt bother to stop and apologise/see if the dog was alive.

i hate mean people.

Did you hear the one about the three-legged dog who rode into town one day?

He was looking for the man who shot his paw.
2001-08-15 04:34:34 PM
I symphatize with you.
I also hate mean people.
I also think that running over a pet is not illegal ( at least in Texas ).
I would not call anybody who runs over my dog mean, much less call somebody a stupid moron for ramming their vehicle into my vehicle.

John Gotti had a kid run over and killed by a neighbor. The neighbor disappeared and has never been found. What do you think Gotti would've done had the neighbor run over the Gotti dog?

Mrstickerman: Hahaha! I love that Pacer. I hope whatever officer is assigned to that is also given a shiny silver Space Police uniform to go with it. And glittery platform shoes!

whoever hit her wasnt mean for hitting her (unless he intentionally swirved, but i dont know) he was mean for not stopping.

This is the first religion-themed news story I've seen that didn't lead to a lengthy debate on atheism. Good job, but now that I've opened my mouth...

Subtitle on article says:

Officer was seeking driver who ran overand killed his dog

overand? I learned a new word!
2001-08-15 07:39:37 PM
Anybody kills my dog and doesn't stop, they's fixin ta get a royal ass whuppin'.
2001-08-15 08:19:59 PM
I would have done the same thing the officer did.
And it's sad that the way the article was written it made the officer out to be the bad guy, it would truly be horrible if something happens to the guys career if a formal complaint is made

Sheriff McGuirt..! LOL!!

Wasn't that deputy's name BARNEY FIFE? Heh heh!

Mayberry, RFD. My home town!

And Xenu, I see now. You have infiltrated the small baptists churches in North Carolina. I see how you are.

And Kat, sorry to hear about your dog. *hugs* I know how much a dog can mean to a person. I had a laborador that I loved better than myself.

But, as a news story on Fark I have to think that this dog getting hit, and the events it led to are farking hilarious!

Call me insensitive. It's not true.

Smell my finger?

We could understand if it was a matter of life and death ...

It was! To the dog, at least.

In Tennessee, what the man did is illegal. If you hit a domesticated animal while driving on a public roadway, you are required to stop and at least make an attempt to notify the owner. However, this does not excuse the officer for his handling of the situation. I believe anyone who so wishes should be allowed to attend worship services without suffering harrassment from outsiders, even if the outsiders technically have a right to do so. The officer could have respectfully waited until the service was over.

Organised religon sucks ass.

The guy shouldn't have apologised on the way out, he had every right to go apeshiat.
