Prepare to be dissapointed.

Phasers, much like Shatner's acting skills, appear to be wooden and dull when examined closely.

Interesting. No mentions of the exhibit being a month late because they wouldn't pay various fees to the previous exhibitor?

Not only can you sit inside Majel Barret Roddenberry but according to this tidbit FTFA:

Fans at the museum will be able to sit in a recreation of the original USS Enterprise bride, "travel" through space on motion simulators, memorialize their experience with a photograph of the original cast, including Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and Mr. Scott, and more,

DeForest Kelley (sp?, Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy) and James Doohan (Montgomery "Scotty" Scott) are back from the dead.

/Most likely as zombies.

Maybe they're from the other universe?

Great, it's the zombie apocalypse, and they have phasers and warp drive. Not exactly what George Romero warned us about.

The Star Wars museum will go up across the street in about a year.

That photo is probably one of those overpriced pasted-in headshots, that any of us could do in PhotoShop in two seconds.

This has got to be the rehashed version of "Star Trek - The Tour" which debuted in Long Beach earlier this year... AND WHAT A FINANCIAL FIASCO!

Their price point on tickets was too high... they tried to run 7-days a week for a month, and never made it that far. SEE Entertainment who ran the gig... ran it right into the ground. And that was a shame, because they coulda ran this thing all over the country and made a damn fine profit if they weren't so pigheaded.

Oh yeah... I helped to build and image all the media servers for that clusterfark. Too bad, it HAD the potential for cool.

Bugs_Bunny_Practiced_Psychological_Warfare: Maybe they're from the other universe?

Great, so we have evil McCoy and evil Scotty, also most likely as zombies since due to the violence of their universe (even more than our time in this one), they probably died before our versions.

ABQGOD: That photo is probably one of those overpriced pasted-in headshots, that any of us could do in PhotoShop in two seconds.

I still like my zombie idea better.

Just in time for the Comic-Con crowd in July. Mere coincidence, I'm sure.

Besides, I get a feeling that this is all just the stuff that they had in the Las Vegas Hilton when they still had the Star Trek Experience. Seen it already.

Really, does anyone expect them to have functional phasers? The props are all resin molds, painted up and augmented with computer or film (in TOS) effects.

You can make or buy your own from eBay or weirdo sites like this. They're usually unpainted resin props, but a few coats of paint and they're screen and stage ready.

So... to sum up... no shiat they're "wooden."

They haven't. Yet. If they don't renew the lease, it's out in the next month or two.

Oh crap, I was planning on going there in September. I hope they'll say something soon about how long it's going to be there.

Add me to the list of worried would-be Experience visitors. I was planning a vacation to Vegas in October, with ST:TE as a major stop. Now I may have to postpone my trip til next year (new job) and I'm hoping it's still there.

Sarcastic, biatchy (if profile is anything to go by) and Trek-knowledgable. I'd ask how you're doing if I wanted to be verbally flayed.

But who doesn't enjoy a good flaying?
