Still, he comes off as positively glowing compared to the utterly baffling work turned in by Zooey Deschanel. Normally such a quirkily matter-of-fact (and always interesting) actress, from her first appearance up through the love-conquers-all(?) climax there is something so off about her performance that the only obvious subtext is that she's playing mentally challenged. Her childlike approach to adult matters and her bug-eyed reluctance

LOL

People need to learn to relax instead of obsessing about trying to stop anything they personally disapprove of. If you don't like something, stop watching/listening/buying it.

Nestea Plunge: How does this guy keep getting work?

Gravy train seems to be coming to an end. Lady in the Water barely got approval to be made, and back when The Happening was still called The Green Effect, every single major studio in Hollywood passed. Only after a rewrite did The Happening get a greenlight. So the studios are pretty much done with The Next Alfred HitchcockTM. This movie bombs hard enough, he's going to have to write another The Sixth Sense to get it made.

I don't know, but I think he really needs to direct a film that's written by someone else.

The story itself has been, by far, the weakest link in his past few films.

I'm worried - isn't Shyalaman slated to direct the live action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie? I hope they find someone else.

If there even WAS a shark to jump.

I mean Unbreakable would have been fantastic if it was 40 minutes long.

Instead by the time the gripping and poignent Oscar bait scene with Bruce Willis eating cereal comes around, you're climbing the walls.

Oh crap... I had forgotten about that. He could possibly make a really good movie as long as he doesn't fark with the storyline.

/I rank "Avatar" as one of the better shows on TV, regardless of genre or intended age group

Oh don't worry, the story will stay the same and M. Night will play EVERY character himself, so you know it will be awesome.

Man I hope this movie is the next Rocky Horror Picture Show!

People showing up with fans so someone from the audience can run from the wind, people pretending to fall off the stage...

Zooey's bug-eyed reluctance is what turns me on most about her.

Who gives a shiat...can someone please just post some pictures of Zooey?

Zooey sure has the bug eyes. I liked the movie she was in where she played the subdued shy girl who spoke in a monotone.

Waot...what?

What they haven't announced yet is that he has cast himself as a pivotal character in the movie that the fate of the world rests on. Avatar also will kill a movie critic in the film.

So I did a GIS for Zooey whatshername, and thought oh hey that's the chick from Bones.

But that's not right either the chick from Bones is Emily whatshername. guess they're sisters or something...

/And they're both very bug eyed.

she looks so plain jane in this one, i didn't recognize her (not saying she's normally a supermodel, but still)>

So did the author of the article like the film, or not? he wasn't clear.

I have a hard time believing anything could be worse than Signs or The Village.

But I do have faith that Shyamalan can pull that off.

I have a feeling this thread is about to enter another dimension.
One that is the opposite of that which M. Night exists.

This is the first bubble bobble reference I've seen since beating the game. I thought I did good with a section z reference a few weeks back, but this takes the cake. Good job sir.

I love Zooey Deschanel delivery and style of acting. It's completely different than anyone else out there and for the right roles, it's perfect.

She's also beautiful and has a wonderful voice.

Oh gosh... I'm in love.

Dude, there are some things in life that simply demand action even if they don't impact you directly. That type of attitude you are pushing led to the rise of Nazism. If Uwe Boll is allowed to continue making movies, the consequences could be just as dire.

I think I've gone partially blind after reading that site. Could it be more poorly laid out?

therecksays: Speaking of Zooey, anyone heard her CD? I'm just wondering if it's any good.

Her singing voice is kind of a cross between Linda Ronstadt and Carole King. A fairly good batch of songs, and they've got M. Ward on board, which is a plus.
