I have a friend whose kid was beat up by a group of girls who had among their names DeTreasure and Essence.

Methinks the first one was named after a Mel Brook's History of the World Part I joke by someone who had never seen the movie.

I wouldn't say the names are unpopular, so much as they are "unique." Or "uniqu'a."

They're also more likely to become professional athletes.

Which makes total sense.

Or, people with unusual names often have parents who were a little unusual. People raised by weirdos don't always "fit in."

It's also interesting that the weirder/rarer the name the younger the kids parents were when he was born. It's tied into race as well.

/Anyone named Lu'Roofa is likely an American black (they are different from African blacks) born to a single mother under the age of 22.
//works for lots of names.
///before you dispute it think about all the people with weird names you know.

If you name your child Upgrayedd, regardless of race they are going to jail.

However what this article failed to point out, is that if you give your child some of the popular names like Madison or Ashlee, they may not go to jail but they are probably going to be a coont.

I was a 6th-grade teacher a decade ago in a small rural "trailer park" school. I'm not normally one to paint with a broad brush, but if you name your son Cody you just might be the butt of a Jeff Foxworthy joke...

Holy smokes! That's my Dad's middle name! He's usually accused of being overly goofy, though.

Or maybe bible freaks who name their kids Christopher, Matthew and that other one in the example just raise their kids not to be delinquents more successfully (I don't know what's scarier).

If you name your kid "Malice" you can expect bad things.
