I'm a registered Republican and I'm a tank in the 9th top rated guild in North America.

How sad that you both know your guild's ranking on the continent and feel the need to brag about it.

blacksho89: Now I wish, for group dynamics, I'd rolled horde. But there aren't any toons you can get that don't have hunch backs.

Blood Elves. No hunchbacks.

So with Horde your choices are hunchbacks or nancy-boys/cheerleaders.

61 (almost 62) night elf beast master hunter, Icecrown (Sniktclaw). Only reason I'm notable at all (other than my amazing suckitude in BGs) is I have a ghost saber named Gygax that I've had since he was level 20.

24 undead warlock, same server (Jaryllyran, or some such)
12 draeni pally, same server (Lawfulman -- yes, I was feeling punchy when I named him)

I almost miss playing WoW. But then i remember how it degenerated into feeling like i was basically carrying 4 to 24 other people ( and 39 back in the day) on my back.
With maybe only 20% of the people in the raid or group both knowing what they were supposed to do, and doing it well. the rest were drunken/drugged up idiots who just wanted quick shiny purples.

It also didn't help that Blizzard didn't know how to make fun boss encounters from the tank's perspective. Most fun I ever had in WoW was fighting Onyxia or the entire instance of AQ40.

The Kara chess event was kinda fun too if only because it was a change of pace. It was a bit too easy though.

You weren't playing vs the bosses; you were fighting against the incompetency of your raid. I like blizzard's RTS more anyway.

ImJustaTroll: Private server. Any boss kill you want, solo. Just takes time + gear.. Tier 6 + Both Illian's weapons = Mount Hyjal's a piece of Cake.

I have to recompile the database every patch, but it beats paying 15 bucks a month for no character progression.

artthehypnotist: My favorite Party game was HOLE JUMPING.

We would get about 10 to 20 people, and all make clerics on an alternate server. Then we would all go get bound by THE HOLE, and, after everyone had gotten a DIVINE AURA spell, we would wait till it reset, then, everyone jumps into the hole, with DA on. Land at the bottom and run around and try to see who would live the logest while all the high level baddies used to try to eat us.

Good times!

LOL...I remember that. Also used to run naked races from Rivervale to Crushbone. Everyone rolls an assling, you got till you ding level 2 to equip what you can loot in Misty Thicket.

Only buff allowed is SOW. No porting, and in those days hadda wait and make the damn 30 minute boat trip from Freeport if you made it that far. Prizes to those who get to Crush entrance first, etc. Then all gather in CB and zerg D'Vinn and Crush himself. Can be done with 30-40 lvl 2's if you have a cleric doing chain rezzes and keep pounding away! Way too much fun.

/Drunken Kelethin treehouse races are fun as well.

oh gah, the Horde of the Ruin battle group made me cry. They were particularly bad at AV. It felt like friggin christmas morning whenever Horde would manage to win an AV, it was so rare. It was all "kill bal and destroy some towers before alliance win the game gogo!"

Inevitably the alliance would stick 3 or 4 people in bal's room and send a handful of people to the towers and destroy an entire zerg rush of horde's attempt at killing a friggin mindless npc. Most games i was lucky to come out with more than 100 bonus honor..

at least I had better success with AB, seemed to win about 75% of all my matches i played in there. Ruin Horde were extremely good at that game.

GAT_00: Hahaha, makes sense someone running for office can't get anything more complicated than a hunter to 70.

70 Orc hunter (12 beast mastery, 26 marksman, 23 survival)

That spec is all kinds of fail. Actually, all of hers are. And no, I'm not going to list my toons.

Exactly, I was going to say the same thing, what kinda broke ass spec is that? Troll hunter and done plenty of raiding (in BT/Hyjal when I stopped playing) and pvp, based around all three specs, but never so spread out...

At least AB is playable in my BG again. Yes, THAT bg... *sigh*

That's a perfectly acceptable raiding spec for Kara and the like. It's not great at anything, but her traps will stick, and she probably took mostly dps enhancing talents in MM and BM. At end-game when 25 mans will likely have more than enough overlap she'll want to be more specifically focussed, but I don't see a problem with it.

Bah, shouldn't need to trap in Kara anyways, and even untalented is plenty for the first room if you know how to chain trap (which isn't most huntards). 41/20/0 is really any hunter should be running in 10 and 25 mans. Unless you're a lucky SOB and collect a good set with high AGI and get to be the token Surv EW factory (which is what I was doing when I left my old raiding guild).

Would vote for her. CT is one strange state.

So, dumbarsed question from a noob: what do you mean by tiered gear?

LowbrowDeluxe: Oh, come off it. I've seen more horde ganking lowbies than I've ever even *seen* horde lowbies. Yesterday a pair of 50's were hanging around Lakeshire ganking of all the stupid places. Let's not even discuss the camping of Nessingway Camp. ugh. Horde suck. Or the asshole who ganked us in the middle of Terokk's Downfall. Wasn't my quest, but that guy must have spent several days farming scrolls to get the non-reusable summoning item. Yeah, that's pure Horde class there.

4 words for ya:

Crossroads is under attack!

Farkin' hell! At level 10 I got ganked by a 70 while talking to a vendor in that place. Rezzed, started leaving town, and got ganked again. On a PvE server at that. Maybe it's different on PvP servers? Really, are you 70s so bored?

TheBigJerk: set up a slutty female who dresses and dances like a stripper (which, oddly enough, all female races do).

Don't know about that. Tauren females do the electric slide, and that doesn't really look that strippery. By the by, why aren't there a lot of Tauren females?

46 Troll Warrior, arms spec

Are you serious? You can't be serious. As someone who exclusively plays on PVP servers and think you carebears are, well, carebears I've got some advice for you. DON'T TAG YOURSELF FOR PVP MORAN. Crossroads is in barrens. Barrens is a horde zone. If you get killed in crossroads it's because you're an idiot and tagged yourself for pvp. Don't be dumb, ganking problem solved.

Was NOT flagged for PvP, fool (gee, namecalling is fun!). Especially as, at that point, I'd only been playing the game maybe a week and was still learning stuff (though I knew the difference early on). Perhaps I wasn't clear in pointing out that I play Horde (troll, BE, tauren toons), and the town was - and is always under - attack by Alliance.

BTW, I don't PvP, ever. I'm not in it for l33t pwning and looking over my shoulder all the time, I'm in it to waste some time killing mobs and finishing quests. Fun for me is not the same as fun for you. Sorry it's not up to your par cupcake.

Duck_of_Doom: Crossroads is under attack!

If Chuck Norris was the Crossroads, and he attacked himself, what would happen?

One night of the dreaded Barrens' Chat and I dumped my Tauren for good. The Horde are funnier and employ much better team work.

Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.

What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.

Here is the questions. The ducttape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.

Are any of you aware of a thicker plate that could stop, say, .338 Lapua or something like that? Is there a better way to do the second plate?

BTW, I am, of course, usually carrying a pair of ceramic plates in my briefcase so that I can shield my head. My SO (we work as a team when necessary) has a similar accessory containing a breakdown NEF single-shot 300 WinMag with an 18" bbl. The plan is that I shield us with my body and "catch the rounds" while she assembles the NEF. I lay down covering fire with my 23 (Bar-Sto .357 Sig barrel) and she makes the long shots. I will then throw smoke grenades to obscure the area while continuing to lay covering fire. The problem, of course, is when I have to turn my back to run, and then the problem crops up.

I have a Level 40 Night Elf Rogue named Janalin on Doomhammer. I'm still a n00b essentially, only started playing in February of this year. I really don't like Alliance though. Main reason I play Alliance is so that I can play and quest with a group of friends I made when I played FFXI several years ago. I really prefer Horde, but can't convert my best friend to the other side. I'll pick up a Horde character soon... probably either an Orc Warlock or Hunter.

They can't gank you if you aren't flagged for PVP. They can't attack you. If they ganked YOU, YOU did something stupid. There's no ifs ands or buts about it.

How old is this candidate? If she's 35ish, that means her father is at least in his 50s, if not approaching 60.

Personally, I tire of the spec-based elitism. WoW builds are dependent on playstyle, and there's no one "right" build for each class.

Nothing's more tiresome than "OMG you HAVE to level Rogues with a Combat spec LOL!"

If what she has works for her, so be it. Games aren't all about optimizing.
