What are you, Foghorn Leghorn?

The first reviewer apparently has a chronic, I say, a chronic case of sand in his vagina...

If only there were a way to preview before post...

/I fail.

If you think you're cool by making scornful remarks about Drew or his book, you're wrong.
This is Drew's house, you're just a guest. Drew doesn't owe you anything in terms of content.

Actually he owes us EVERYTHING. We generate the content. His success is due to our comments, our page views, and our clicking on the advertisements. He originated the site and helps maintain and promote it, and it wouldn't be here without it, but he is not what keeps it going; it is the users - some of them paying - that make Fark work (as proven by the use of Farkers' quotes in the book). If you were to remove Drew from the equation right now, the links would still come, and the snark would still be here. Sure you'd still need mods and admins, but you need users even more.

What you're saying is like that every time Lewis Hamilton wins a Grand Prix, he owes everything to Karl Benz and Henry Ford.

Thing is if you steal it Drew still gets his money, its the retailer that takes the loss since they paid the publisher already for the book. But if you still feel the need to pee, download the torrent, print it (hopefully at the cost to someone else) and then pee away my friend, pee fricken away!!!

We all know the best way to get people to buy your products is to annoy them with stupid ad tactics.

With all due respect, I've done enough for this site already, thanks.

I'm quoted on page 101 of the hardcover; wonder where I am in the paperback? Only one way to find out.

I bought it. Woot. I love me some Drew.

I saw it on the rack at Borders the other day. When I picked it up, I thought it was suitably lightweight. Bought it.

I worked at Borders. This book did not sell well. People barely bothered to look at it, and then they always ended up buying AMERICA: THE BOOK or I AM AMERICA AND YOU CAN, TOO!, or even the Maddox book (which is pretty lame unless you're a fratboy).

Ditto: Tell ya what Drew. You bring back teh boobies, I'll buy your book.

THIS. That is all.

Mine is sitting on the kitchen table right now. Seriously. Meanwhile I'm wasting my time on the internets.

is there going to be any new material in it?

"It's Not News, It's Fark: How Mass Media Tries to Pass Off Crap as News"

...by the guy who makes a living by passing along that same stuff. Real moral high ground there. It makes about as much sense a bartender who won't shut up about the evils of alcohol.

There's no giant media conspiracy to pass off anything; people are being given the content they what they want. As this website's stats prove, the market for amusing random crap is a strong one.

Isildur

You just won 20 pounds of Internet.

Look, I've been meaning to buy it for a year now, get off my case, okay?

My girlfriend found a copy of the Fark.com book (hardcover) in a library here in Paris the other day. She was kind enough to check it out for me, as i don't have a membership (i'm not a student). It's a reasonable book, but it probably could have been condensed somewhat - to be honest, i'm happy that i (legitimately) read it for free. :P
