2002-11-25 11:42:08 PM
Big ol' congrats to Wil! Say, if you're reading this, mind telling us who the other voice actors on the show are? :)

2002-11-25 11:43:47 PM
OKAY folk it's Wil not Will....

sheesh

2002-11-25 11:46:05 PM
The single best thing about this is that Wil basically said, "Ah, fark Hollywood. I'll take jobs whenever", and now is doing great.

2002-11-25 11:48:09 PM
Aqualad?

2002-11-25 11:54:43 PM
wasnt aqualad , aquamans gay son?

2002-11-25 11:56:17 PM

2002-11-25 11:59:30 PM
Wil, if things go well, maybe you can be the next Frank Welker.

2002-11-25 11:59:43 PM
Go Wil!

I hope you get to say "great Neptune" or something similar. I wonder if Tusky is in the new cartoon.

2002-11-25 11:59:45 PM
You know, take Aquaman, already the most lame superfriend, then make him even lamer and you get Aqualad

Aquaman

much fun to enjoy

I can see the fit for Wil

*snicker*

I hope Wil finds time to do this in between all his film and TV roles.

2002-11-26 12:27:26 AM
Way Cool...............I detect sarcasm.
I saw that Outer Limits thing he did, boy did it SUXOR!
I like Will , but come on man, take some good roles, if ya can get em.

2002-11-26 12:31:26 AM
NoooOOOOOoooo.... not Aqualad! Has the poor boy not suffered enough?

It's bad enough that our poor buddy Wil still receives hate mail from people who have a strong dislike for Wessley Crusher but now to cast him as the boy sidekick of the most useless of superheros. That's a cross no man should have to bear.

Can't they make Wil someone cool? Granted Wil is only going to be able to pull off so much cool before he stretches the suspension of disbelief to the breaking point.

You know I love you Wil but let's face it, when it comes right down to it, you're an A.V. Club geek (and I only tell you this as a fellow geek who knows how to field strip a Bell & Howell 16mm projector). You're not going to be able to pull off a Robin cool. You're definetly not going to be able to pull off a Nightwing cool. Still, there has got to be some teen sidekick out there who falls somewhere between Robin and Aqualad. I'm not too hip to the DC superhero comics but didn't Green Arrow have a young sidekick? Surely he had to be cooler than Aqualad.

I feel for you Wil, old chum, but I'm sure you'll be okay. If you were able to survive being Wessley Crusher I'm sure you'll survive Aqualad too. The important thing to remember is, no matter what happens, you have a wife and kids who love you very much.

I'm pulling for ya, Wil.

Feh.

2002-11-26 12:45:28 AM
c'mon wil, if they decide to redo Jabberjaw, i think you'll have it made.

This speaks for itself...

Hey, relax guy! Knock the mortgage down and enjoy the work (if possible)...

You know, in all honesty, I got to do the voice of a superhero today, on a TV show that my kids will love to watch.

I also go to go all comic book guy with Marv Wolfman geeking out about Sandman and Watchmen.

I don't care if it's Wendy, Marvin, and Wonderdog.I got to be part of a cool cartoon today.

So bring it, you farkers. I will use my aquatic telepathy to summon a nearby school of guppies, and get medieval on your asses.

2002-11-26 12:51:56 AM
Don't listen to the nay-sayers Wil, go for it!

2002-11-26 12:55:07 AM
Okay, coming from someone who knows nothing about Aquaman or who Marv Wolfman is, I think being able to do voice-overs is awesome. I think everyone else here is just jealous b/c deep down inside you all know that you desire to be a part a TV show, any TV show... Come on, admit it!!

2002-11-26 12:56:23 AM
Well, Andrea Romano is the voice director for both Justice League and the new He-Man series. And the voice acting on those shows is top notch. I don't think you could ask to work with better people in the biz.

2002-11-26 12:57:54 AM
Oh no! Look out, we've angered Wil Wheaton! Now he has let loose upon us his unholy army of guppies with their amazing live-breeding action.

Try not to look directly at the fancy tails or you'll be mesmerised by their colourful majesty.

2002-11-26 12:58:23 AM
Honestly, I think it's fantastic.

I just hope they don't make Aqualad wear those shorts.

2002-11-26 12:58:23 AM
Count your blessings Wil, you are a lucky man.
Happy Thanksgiving too man.

2002-11-26 01:07:03 AM
So why do they wear their underwear on the outside?

2002-11-26 01:09:10 AM
Oh and if anyone wants to enlighten me on who Marv Wolfman is, I would be much appreciative. Thank you in advance.

2002-11-26 01:11:17 AM
Big freakin deal. Why do we idolize Hollywood so much? It's just a man who got a job. If we put up a link each time each member got a job, there would be no room for all the links.

Just remember--in the real world--in the grand scheme of things, it's "Wil who?"

2002-11-26 01:21:44 AM
11-26-02 12:49:51 AM Wil

You know, in all honesty, I got to do the voice of a superhero today, on a TV show that my kids will love to watch.

Wil has kids?

2002-11-26 01:23:58 AM
sure, Bohomianchicka, i agree - we all should be so lucky to be Wil. 'nuff said.

2002-11-26 01:26:27 AM
marv wolfman is a writer. created the "blade" character, among others. and a good one, though i don't know much about the comics, except for mark trail.

2002-11-26 01:35:45 AM
WHY? Why would we be lucky to be Wil? For a few years of fame? Get your priorities in order, people

2002-11-26 01:36:56 AM
did I say fame? ...wait a minute...

2002-11-26 01:43:33 AM
Kattalasso has Wil envy.

2002-11-26 02:16:03 AM
Way cool WIL !!!

Justice League ASSEMBLE!!!

2002-11-26 02:29:33 AM
Wil needs to do an episode of Gargoyles.

Sure, the show isn't being produced anymore, but we can work around that.

Seems like everyone else from TNG did it at one point.

Wil, you said something about 'it just killed me that he was referring to Alan Moore as "Alan."' We - or rather, I, since I can't speak for people who aren't me - get a rather surreal feeling to hear you casually mention 'Patrick' or 'Brent.'

2002-11-26 02:33:50 AM
Kattalasso ...If we put up a link each time each member got a job, there would be no room for all the links.

The Future, Conan: "Check it out guys! FARK got two links this month! Things are definitely looking up!"

In other news...

(Fame|!) I think it's neat to have Wil here. Commenting in this tread is as close as I've come to interacting with a TV star since I joined the Space Ghost Fan Club back in '96.

To the haters: Everybody can be equally successful in different ways. Pick one and go with it. If you're already much more successful than Wil and I combined, then just let us wallow in our ignorance I guess.

2002-11-26 02:47:50 AM
Happy Thanksgiving, Will .. and thanks for all the years of great entertainment .. !!

2002-11-26 03:17:50 AM
Congrats, Wil. I definitely wish I could be in your shoes, as a fan of both comics and animation.

Note to self: Kattalasso is what happens to you when you let too many of your dreams die, then stuff them down deep inside and let them eat away at your soul. Avoid this if possible.

2002-11-26 03:37:18 AM
Does aqualad have the power to repel leeches?

2002-11-26 03:55:57 AM
I won't be satisfied until Wil does porn.
And I hate porn. But I'm willing to make an exception.

Yes, I know that was bad. But it was more creative than the ass kissing.

And I meant it:)

2002-11-26 05:02:01 AM
No arse kissing for Sweater Girl. She is too refined for such a lowly position. BTW, if he DID(bring on IF=Fifth reference) Would you be the co-star? Would farkers get first copy? Would there be sweaters?

Stop with the teasing woman!! (j/k)

2002-11-26 07:31:28 AM
I wonder if we're talking about the classic group of Titans:

Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Speedy, Aqualad

or a mixture of some of the different eras, with Starfire, Cyborg, Changeling, etc. I know there were even newer versions but they escape my mind right now.

2002-11-26 07:56:21 AM
Andrea Romano does the current versions of Justice League, Batman, Superman, Tiny Toons, Pinky and the Brain, etc.

If you saw Dan Castenella (sp?) and Harry Shearer on Conan last week, you know these voice over people are cool.

If there was a geek on the show "Beat the Geeks" for cartoon voiceovers, I would have to kick his ass. He would know more than me, but I would kick his ass anyway.

Wil, voice over work goes beyond cool for me. I hope it works out. And I hope your kids think it's cool, too.

Look what it did for Donny Osmond's career!

Wil's pulling a Hamill?

2002-11-26 09:41:45 AM
Well, now I have to watch Teen Titans. I think it's great that Wil will be one of the voices, though I can't really believe they put Aqualad in there. Aquaman's only been in two eps of JL (I think).

I need to find info on this. Like if Nightwing is in it, and if it's the same voice actor as from Batman:TAS. Andrea Romano has cast all my favorite cartoons, so I'm not too worried. Well, no more worried than I should be about a cartoon filled with sidekicks of characters that mostly only geeks know about.

2002-11-26 10:16:35 AM
Current "Aqualad" character can use magic and is a tattooed bad-ass. Maybe they will use this version so Wil doesn't look like a dork with baby blue panties.

I take it you've forgotten (or mentally blocked) his little Japanese project "Whacky Bukkake America Fun Time Show".

i won't presume to know this young man...but i am glad he is finding work in this screwed up economy.

i for one...liked your work as wesley crusher.
i have had 'the star' treatment...being a somewhat known musician in my neck of the woods.

glad you are still here, bud.

-now berman...on the other hand..............!

2002-11-26 11:04:28 AM
-you rebel sweatergirl...you.

i have to let you know...in my discussions with you, i have thought about all the wild comments you and i haved shared.

-your comment...it's been a while ago...about the unrest in israel...has been a source of quiet reserve for me.

thanks.

i think you stated something along the lines of "israel and palestine just need a good spanking".

women like you and my wife...make me damn proud.

-thanks again.

2002-11-26 11:16:32 AM
Couldn't give two shiats as to who does the voices....

but Teen Titans as a cartoon? YEA!!!!!

and Marv Wolfman involved? even better!!!!

2002-11-26 01:08:10 PM
They still call him Aqualad? What the hell is going on?

2002-11-26 02:04:54 PM
Easy, to him all females smell like fish.

2002-11-26 03:33:59 PM
Congrats... No matter how you slice it, that's a cool gig.

2002-11-26 04:38:33 PM
All this Wil ass kissing makes me wanna wretch. Wesley Crusher sucked ass. That is all.

2002-11-26 06:11:13 PM
To: Chess_the_cat,

Dear Trekkie,

Wil Wheaton is a real person, an actor.

Wesley Crusher was a fictional character, a figment of someone's imagination.

Yes, there's a difference.

Good day.

2002-11-26 10:31:04 PM
Gar never appealled to me as a character. My favorite Titan was Starfire *meow*.

Getting to meet Marv Wolfman has a Geek rating of 7.4. He is a comic book minor deity. Cool beans, Wil.
