I remember way back when the Giants did this to make 2 quarterbacks really fight for the starting position. I think one was Hastetler or something?

All they did was play really hard til one was named the started then they both slacked off and sucked.

Ya, thats what we want to go back to!

mediocrity is too nice a word...

grossman's roller coaster rides are never mediocre, his play is always either much better or far worse...

orton's play has never risen to the level of mediocrity.

DA BEARS!

Sometime you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you. But, for the most part, DA BEARS just suck the grout in between floor tiles.

I was about to say this. Though it would help if the recieving core, you know, actually caught a ball once in a while. Or the O-line gave them some protection and bought their QB some time in the pocket.

I'm more worried about their farking shiatty running game and (lack thereof) wide recievers that the QB situation. Their D is going to be fine though. The division will be between them and Minnesota.

Drink about 6 of these and it'll be all good. No worries.

Given it's Orton, maybe you should make that more like, say, a .16 or so? Hail Captain Neckbeard and his sidekick Jack Daniels. The guy has to be hilarious to party with.

In 18 games he's got 12 TD, 15 INTs, a completion percentage of 52%, with 32 sacks and 15 fumbles.

If by "stud and a winner" you mean "neckbearded inaccurate sack and turnover machine", I agree.

with NO oomph behind it. It's like the ball moves in slow motion when he throws it.

Keep your Purdue hate out of this - what were Rothlesberger's stats after 18 games? Home many other starters are yanked their rookie year for an unproven POS like Grossman, even though you have managed to win? The Bears are toying with this kid. He has the arm and the decision making ability, he has not had an O Coordinator worth a shiat (same for Grossman)

Just give him a year, they have nothing to lose this year.

The bears are going to have a better record than last year just from the simple fact their schedule will be much easier. Green Bay is farked, Detroit will inevitabley fark it up, Minnesota will be decent.

But if the Bears D stays healthy they will win the divison. The biggest problem this year they will have is their inability to streatch the field. (no WR's)

They are making strides to fix the hole in their OL, They are hoping for a good 12 quarters or so out of Mike Brown, they dumped Archilleta, things are looking up...if you forget about two years ago and just compare it to the shaitty product they put on the field last year.

I didn't understand getting rid of Berrian, I don't think Booker can fill his shoes. The play calling needs to improve and the O line needs replacing. I'm really trying to see the up side to this team, but I'm just not feeling it this year.

I think I'll have to agree with my fellow Boilermakers here... Orton has a lot of talent, and he hasn't been given much opportunity to show it. Even if Grossman's best is better than Orton's best, Orton is much more consistent.

/Not that I really care

2008-06-02 12:03:11 PM
I actually don't care who's QB this season, the thing the Bears need to work on is the O-line. If they can play well enough to open some holes for the running game and give a QB more than half a farking second to throw the ball then I'll be ecstatic.

They don't have much in the way of receivers but they should be able to run a decent short yardage game with double tight end sets and a lot of play action.

Unfortunately it seems the Bears coaches are farking retards.

/At least there's Hester with returns.
//I'm REALLY hoping the D isn't too old.

It just came down to money with Berrian. He wanted way too much and for a number 2 (on any team not called the bears)receiver.

That being said if Mike Brown stays healthy this season they will win division fairly easily and make a run in the playoffs. They are a different team with that dude on the field.

How does his dad say his injury is doing?

To be honest he's not the friendliest guy I've ever met, so I keep it to a minimum with the questions and praise. But he did tell me that he's healthy and ready to go.

I'd say improve the line and give Benson a mother-farkin' chance to gain some yards.

Otherwise, bring back Thomas Jones to dance around for a couple seconds only to gain 3 yards.
