I'll respect John McCain when it comes to veterans when he stops voting with Bush against rewarding them for their service and using bullshiat claims to back his vote up. I think actually providing them with tangible benefits would be more helpful and more welcome than visiting them and providing them words of comfort, however nice that may be for the few troops he's able to spend a sizable chunk of time with each day that he visits.
