Shark, just face it, you aren't funny.

Why do you insist upon trolling in this thread every week? Is your life that boring and hopeless?

I got it all except the plate of marshmellows. Thank you for clearing that up. Although, I must admit that just seeing the marshmellows with an eye patch and a hat on was just as funny before I knew what it was from.

I came into the Strong Bad series at a good point... my first experience was the one right before Spring Cleaning... a week later, I saw spring cleaning and was hooked. True, many of them are not too funny, but the ones that are funny make it all worth while.

I used to get upset at all the people that would post "This is not funny" comments and such... but now I just laugh at their futile attempts to bash something they do not understand.

[b]TO ALL (MORONS) WHO HATE STRONG BAD EMAILS[/b]

Humor is entirely subjective. Strongbad emails are funny for some of us; the inside jokes, the quick comments, the typos, and the voice inflections. Some of us get it.
For those who do not get the jokes or think it is less-than-funny just keep your opinion to yourself. Humor comes in many forms. I personally like dark, quick, witty, and clean humor. I get this with HomeStar Runner.
If you find some of the jokes funny but don't get the rest it may require investing time into the website to get the inside-jokes.

There are enough lame comment posts on FARK and those who enjoy HomeStar Runner do not want to read your useless posts.

Back to you Drew.

Damn, read the post below/above this.

"This is the worst deserted island ever."

Great Strongbad E-mail! I thought for sure the message in the bottle would say something like:

Dear Strongbad,

Isn't it hard to type with boxing gloves on?

Crapfully yours,
Joe Reader

Good call Zachery, I was waiting for something along those lines as well. lol

I propose that we institute a template system for Strongbad Email threads.

[Someone who likes Strongbad]: This rocks!

[Someone who hates Strongbad]: Still not funny.

[Someone who likes Strongbad]: If you don't like it, why do you keep looking at it?

[Someone who hates Strongbad]: You are stupid and unimaginative. Strongbad sucks.

[Someone who likes Strongbad]: You just don't get it, it's very subtle, you have to be intelligent to get it.

[Someone who hates Strongbad]: You are stupid and unimaginative. Strongbad sucks.

[Someone who likes Strongbad]: If all you can think of to do is bash people who like Strongbad, your life is empty and meaningless.

[Someone who hates Strongbad]: You are stupid and unimaginative. Strongbad sucks.

[repeat until dead horse is thoroughly flogged]

I was hoping that getting them both to turn into the football helmets at the same time would make something else happen. Nothin' doin', I'm afraid :P But at least SB isn't a Dolphins fan. I might have to start hating him if he was.

Why, yes, yes it is. If you have to know, I am deeply insecure. I feel better about myself by bashing or destroying humorous or beautiful things.

And how about you MorganSLoatShark, is your life really exciting and hopeful? I hope so, because I have been deprived of joy my whole life.

So far, I haven't seen a Strongbad that made me bust out laughing until it hurt. It gives me a chuckle, sometimes a good laugh, and a smirk, and I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it's for. I just think the idea of a Mexican wrestler who types wearing boxing gloves is funny in itself.

2002-11-25 12:33:50 PM
Yeah life is good, No complaints here.

2002-11-25 12:39:12 PM
It's your dime, Sharksandwich.

Make me laugh.

Because obviously, I don't know what humor is. Since you go out of your way to post in any Homestar-related thread, I figure you have the inside scoop.

Hit me with the funny, big boy.

2002-11-25 12:40:58 PM
Um...Sewiously

2002-11-25 12:40:58 PM
shark, i think the question they are trying to pose, although they do it with insults and slurs, is, why do you post that it is not funny? They are saying, if you don't like it, don't watch it, don't post in the thread, leave it be, and it won't bother you. Instead you have to post an image every week saying its not funny. You could just as well ignore the thread.

I assume you do it because you hate the site, don't like the humor, and get a kick out of pissing off strong bad/homestar faithfuls, hah.

I for one am a homestarrunner.com fan, love the stuff, but it doesnt piss me off to see shark post that, this isnt a thread called "Only homestar fans post here," the forums are for opinions to be voiced on the submitted material, people will like it, people will hate it. If there was a news article submitted about something the republicans did, praising them to be great, would you not expect democrats to post their opinion on the forum? Id laugh if I saw a republican post, "Why do you democrats bother to read the article then, why post here? wtf man it's for republicans only we rule, go away."

Sure, strong bad may be funny to me, might not be to others, and i could give a shiat less if they post saying they hate it. I enjoy it, i wont let their opinion get under my skin, if they dont like it, oh well :)

Art_h "gets" it. Right on.

"Since you go out of your way to post in any Homestar-related thread, I figure you have the inside scoop."

Again, i stress, where was this thread titled, "Homestar Runner Bashers need not apply?"

Its just his opinion, dont let it get to ya so much :)

2002-11-25 12:46:00 PM
Anyone want to petition for a StronBad movie? It would be way funnier than most of the crap that comes out....

2002-11-25 12:46:36 PM
So far the biggest busted gut HR moment was "what part of meet us at the stick does he not understand?" I was on a role that night, watched about 3 toons in a row and they were all building on each other. I feel bad for the people who see one of the stranger ones first and don't get properly initiated.

2002-11-25 12:52:45 PM
This one made me laugh out loud.
At work.
Luckily, they lock me in a closet now and someone has taken over my cubicle.

2002-11-25 12:53:21 PM
mildly amusing, as usual. doesn't make me cry rivers, but worth a click every week.

2002-11-25 12:53:30 PM
Hahaha.. People are so uptight. It's kinda cute.

2002-11-25 12:53:43 PM
I really don't like the consistent homosexual overtones of these Strongbad cartoons, really all of the homestarrunner.com stuff. I'm just so surprised that so many farkers either get off on it or don't understand the underlying gay messages of these weekly emails, which aren't even funny anyways. To each his own I guess...

2002-11-25 12:57:32 PM
heh...me thinks maybe Damon is seeing things he wants to see.

2002-11-25 12:58:42 PM
"The Bird" is still my favorite.

BOOOOOOPH

A double duece for the SB haters.

2002-11-25 12:59:02 PM
Worst. Desert island. Ever.

In case anybody hasn't noticed this yet, go to the Toons section at Homestarrunner, click the TV Guide, and go to Features.

"Strong Bad Email .. Strongbad reads his email. Hilarity ensues..."

2002-11-25 01:05:40 PM
I, too, would like to see the weekly Flash cartoons created by the people who feel it's their duty to post every Monday about how much they hate Strong Bad.

Sure, they've got a right to post their opinions. But it takes neither talent nor creativity to denigrate something week after week. I'd love to see them show us that they could do better.

2002-11-25 01:06:58 PM
SUGGESTION

Next week, instead of a regular comment thread, the admins should just link to the comments from this week, or last week, or the week before, etc. See if anyone notices. I'd have a hard time.

2002-11-25 01:13:23 PM
Admit it Damon_Ryde, you're really Jerry Falwell, aren't you.

2002-11-25 01:16:28 PM
Thanks for the dancing characters, Clambake. Those rule!

Sharksandwich: there are a lot of forums where your comments might be appreciated, or at least not ridiculed. Most of the Strongbad haters are amusing and succint (as in they keep it to a post or 2). You really are just making a spectacle of yourself, and, you're not making any friends in doing so. Oh well, I"m sure you have lots of friends in your D&D circle.

(ooooh, burn, -15!)

Strongbad is still awsome.....Seriously

August - hey man, that's just low. Just because I'm giving my honest criticism of homestarrunner.com doesn't mean you have to get all touchy and defensive. If you want to watch your gay cartoon, that's your prerogative man, you do what you want. I just call it as I see it...

SpaceCoyote,

"Meet us at the stick" is the one of my favorite SB lines. Makes me laugh every time I see it. And my friends and I use it in our normal conversations.

"Meet at the stick" has become our de facto phrase for meeting at a specified location. The silly part is, we never really DEFINE what that location is, but we always seem to guess right and know what the others are thinking. The stick ends up working just fine.

We use it a lot during online multiplayer games. "We need to launch a counter attack. Meet at the stick." And everyone shows up.

Christ, we're geeks.

Damon
How come you are the only one who thinks its homosexual?

2002-11-25 01:33:04 PM
I really don't like the consistent homosexual overtones of these Strongbad cartoons, really all of the homestarrunner.com stuff.

Um, Damon... what the crap are you talking about? I think you're seeing what you want to see. I'm guessing you see homosexuals everywhere.

2002-11-25 01:39:34 PM
I have the solution. It seems that some people like Strongbad and some hate it. Count myself among the latter. Surely the people that love it know that the new e-mails are out on Mondays. Every day that your "calendar" says it's "Monday" go to the Strongbad website. Enjoy. If you can remember that, then it won't have to be linked to on Fark. Thus, people like me are happy. Everybody wins!

Damon_ryde , if you are going to troll, you atleast have to make your comments slightly believeable for them to work. Read more newsgroup messages off alt.alien.vampire.flonk.flonk.flonk then get back to us OK?

Chess_the_cat, is somebody holding a gun to your head and forcing you to click the link?

Homestar Runner Story:

Our Hero, Homestar Runner.
Looks like a dildo, talks like a retard.
I know many of us can really relate to him

Our email reader, (what a funny concept). Strong Bad.
Looks like Yosemite Sam, talks like Cheech Marin

Oh yes, Marzipan. Homestar Runner's girlfriend. I guess, if he can get laid anybody can. She kinda looks like a pale carrot.

Damon_ryde : Keep Up THe Good Work!!

Yeah, because nobody should ever post a link that someone else doesn't like.

RylandDotNet, it's dot com!

2002-11-25 02:05:10 PM
I know! Can you believe it?

2002-11-25 02:09:45 PM
PokySharpy, that was really funny

2002-11-25 02:15:42 PM
man.. I'm getting really addicted to this site...

2002-11-25 02:21:39 PM
Seriously folks

The issue is not whether this cartoon is funny or not. That is a matter of opinion. I think the issue is who is
plugging this website every week and why. That post gets seen by thousands of people. If you had a website wouldn't
you want that kind of exposure? How come your website or mine doesn't get posted every week?
Doesn't that piss anyone off? I even feel that some of the people who say they love this cartoon are co-conspirators.
Hey, Fark doesn't have to post a link to The Hun everyday for me to go there. Homestar website should just be listed as a favorite link on the sidebar.

2002-11-25 02:41:03 PM
i see no ads on homestarrunner.

The MAN is keeping us DOWN.

Jeez... paranoid much?

It's not a conspiracy. Your website and my website don't get posted every week because they aren't as good as Homestar Runner. If they were, people might post them. If I'm pissed about anything, it's that I'm not as funny or talented as the Brothers Chaps.

Homestar website should just be listed as a favorite link on the sidebar.

Now that I agree with.
