For fans who once booed Santa Claus, chanting "Fat F**k" the whole way, these Eagles fans were quite stoic about it all.

What idiots. Philly is the last place they should've called a game. They're lucky a riot didn't break out. Those philly fans are loons.

What I find the most amusing is that this turf is a replacement for the old terf that everyone complained about. Be carefull what you wish for, you just might get it.

And on the turf subject, why would you go to the expense of replacing bad astroturf with a different astroturf. Hell, even Giants Stadium switched to grass. Only Filthadelphia.

Philly is not the place to call a game....

All things considered, I rather NOT be in Philadelphia.

born and raised in philly, and if you say you don't like it, i'll break your face.

Rotting stadium with crappy turf and hordes of missing links trying to smash up what's left. Just another game day in Philthydelphia.

I'm surprised they didn't call the game because the Ravens suck. How on Earth they won the SuperBowl is beyond me - was the NFL really that mediocre last year? I've been so distracted by NA$CAR that I've lost track.

Oh, wait - Trent Dilfer was the SuperBowl winning MVP? That answered my question.

I meant QB, not MVP. So much for my first rant of the day (shuffles off meekly...)

Hmmmm.. Football players whine and biatch about not having a nice smooth playing surface. When was the last time you worked in a perfect office with everything exactly the way you wanted it?? Wah, they'll hurt their legs. Gee, lets make this an OSHA complaint.. There are plenty of other jobs (which pay considerably less, obviously) that are much more dangerous than playing a little game of football once a week for an hour or two. Get a freaking grip.

Growing up, my friends and I played football on contrete, usually parking lots. And we usually tackled too. These guys are a bunch of pansies.

I, too, felt that they should not have called the game. But since this was the first time the new NextTurf was being used, everyone was right not to risk it. Why doesn't everyone just shut the hell up, the new stadium will be here soon enough (Jumbotron:which is the reason why turf was put in and not gra$$)and then what are all the Philadelphia-haters gonna cry and crack jokes about then? Bad turf, crumbling stadium and they made it to the playoffs last year anyway. And for crying out loud Argonaut, tell the real story on the Santa Claus incident instead of just the ESPN highlight. Alas, before I go, one last thing, the stadium holds quite a few people other than the loud mouth, trashy, drunken "boo birds" in the 700 level, but I suppose the rest are too quiet to make fun of. As we wait for the Phillies, so far all of our sports teams have made it to the playoffs this year. What other city can claim that?

just don't put turf over the dirt.. that makes it funner!

unless you can get injured that way also, then just play Eagle games at Franklyn Field or Beaver Stadium

Hey BassetHound, where does the original quotation come from?

shit

PsiDefect:
"All things considered, I rather NOT be in Philadelphia."

The quote comes is a paraphrase of W.C. Fields' headstone which reads:
"On the whole. I'd rather be in Philadelphia."
Mr. Fields was interred in Queens, NY
