Too bad Sony is still producing these films - if Marvel Studios got the rights back they could tie it in with the other Marvel U characters.

Didn't everyone hate Spider-Man 3?

What more is there to do with the character? They've pretty much run out of villains and unless you're recasting Alicia Witt as Mary Jane, there's no appeal whatsoever.

Alicia Witt is 33 years old, man.

I'm 33, too. I know it's hard to handle, but we are no longer the target demographic.

After SM3, I'd kind of like to see Topher Grace play Spidey...he was the only decent thing about that movie. That probably won't happen because he already played Venom, though.

Didn't see it because I hated Spiderman 2. I get it he loses his powers and he's a complete klutz now. Pretty much all I remember is sitting through the movie trying not to be disgusted at the poor acting and melodrama. Though the Doc Oct CG was farking amazing

Doc Ock took that movie from boring to FARKING BADASS every time he came on screen.

Actually, the correct reference was "Brokeback motherf*cking Spider-man", a variation of a comment made by Hollywood agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) in Entourage. When his client is being difficult about starring in the sequel to Aquaman, he tells his client's manager that Jake Ggyylleennhhaall is taking over the role, prompting him to yell "Brokeback motherf*cking Aquaman - take that, biatch!".

But is there a reason you seem to be so hypersensitive in these threads to comments that merely appear homophobic?

Seiously...You missed the reference. Give it up. You are making yourself come off like a complete jackass. Move on. It's cool. You don't watch Entourage or you don't remember. It's okay to just admit when you have snarked unnecessarily instead of piling on.

I'm still pissed that Thomas Haden Church wasn't cast as Eddie Brock. It makes so much more sense than Topher Grace, who's too young.

The Spidey franchise needs to go CGI and straight to video.

I'm honestly suprised the haven't tried Kingpin yet. Maybe it was because of Daredevil, but you'd just figure they would, considering how he was always shiatting in Spidey's cornflakes.

Only douchebags enjoy Entourage. Make your lame references accordingly.

2008-05-28 11:51:55 AM
Spidey 3 was good enough, except for crow-barring Venom into it. Should have ended with the lead-in to a whole Venom movie.

The fight with Goblin Jr was pretty damn good, IMO, but again, it was resolved in this flick when it should have been left open.

But yeah, Doc Ock was the pinnacle of the Spiderman series.

In any case, the Spidey trilogy as it is now was still far less disappointing than some other trilogies in recent memory *cough*Star Wars Prequels*cough*

As much as I'm sure people don't want to see it after the Venom fiasco that was Spidey 3, I'd really enjoy seeing an INTELLIGENTLY done Carnage movie, but I think a Kingpin/Lizardman movie would be just as entertaining.

/don't look at me like that, there MUST be a Lizardman movie
//Also, I submit that Kingpin should be played by Bruce Campbell for no other reason than to have Bruce play a major role in the film

Translation:

"I overreacted to what I thought was a gay joke, when I simply didn't understand an obscure reference. Someone gave me a hint, but I continued my descent into unfamiliar territory. When the reference was fully explained to me, I learned it's from a show I don't like and quickly invalidated it based on my dislike of it in order to save face. I got owned, but please change the subject."
