(Some Guy)   Remember the 10-year-old boy who talked his way onto an airplane and flew to Texas? He nearly did it again, getting past airport "security" and onto the concourse   (thenewstribune.com) divider line 170

FTFA: Semaj's mother, Sakinah Booker...

What's up with the crazy names? Is it bad that I wasn't surprised when I saw the picture of the kid? Am I Going To Die?

Jebus, please don't tell me people are going to start spelling and pronouncing their kids names backwards. I just got used to figuring out how to say their name with a " ' " randomly thrown in.

Case in point:

This brat's "mother" (quotation marks to imply the fact she clearly isn't doing sufficient mothering) needs to be receiving bills for wasted police time, stat.

I have a feeling if she had to foot the bill, the discipline required to prevent future repetitions would suddenly make itself felt.

The problem is that Airport security seems to operate on a arbitrary and capricious manner. They allow this kind of thing to happen but then confiscate your nail file which they sell on the other side of the security gate.

That's funny. What makes you think someone would pay such a bill?

i would have to disagree, only for the fact that i know a lot of good parents with pain in the ass, highly intelligent children. i mean, he got a stick shift going out of first with those short legs? sneaking on to to one flight, and almost on to a second only mildly less impressive.
he was afraid of a pedo, i can understand that.

How the hell did they let him passed the check points not once but twice? Someone fell asleep on the job or something

Like Baird, Cooper stressed that the boy presented no danger. "This was not a security situation," he said. "If someone had somehow barged through security without being properly screened, it would have been a different matter. He did go through the proper screening."

Wrong. Fail. He did not go thru proper screening. He did barge thru security without being properly screened. He received NO SCREENING. Basically he did the opposite of everything you said!

Airport Security is just this side of useless. Why? They are the rejects that flunked out of the mall-cop academy. Anything the TSA employees do that impact security in a positive way is entirely by accident. Pretty much, it's just a huge f**king waste of time.

Sure. Add "when someone we love does something we disapprove of, we hit them" to his repetoire. Then he'll be precocious AND violent! Bonus!

/you're an idiot

There are one of two things going on here ...

A) he's a complete "Dennis the Menace" .. perhaps the mother should give the state "temporary" custody so the kid can get a taste of "life on his own" at the age of ten... that'll fix him.

OR ..

B) Something srsly twisted is happening at home that this kid is trying to escape from, \sSomeone needs to talk him to find out what's going on.

He ended up in front of a judge at age 10! And now he is going to have a criminal record, permanently farking up his life!!

Shouldn't you be putting up Obama yardsigns?

Could also be both.

Ok... I see that him getting on a plane is a problem. But how did he get there? Does he live in the airport so he can just wander down to the gate?

"Hey where's Semaj? Not in his room, not out front on his bike. Ohh yeah, that taxi pulled up about an hour ago, he must of called it."

where are the kid's parents?

I think we are missing another important question.

HOW THE HELL DID HE GET TO THE AIRPORT THAT EARLY IN THE MORNING IN THE FIRST PLACE?

In most cases your record is wiped when you turn 18, so (assuming he was somehow cured of his wanderlust) it wouldn't exactly fark up his life.

2008-05-28 02:37:37 PM
Semaj? That alone sounds like a name that would get you pulled aside by the screener.

That's your defense for enjoying hitting kids? C'mon, you can do better.

Take a quicky survey of the people in prison (or look one up on the Internets). Nearly all prisoners were whupped, spanked, whatever you call it as kids.

See how well it works, bright boy?

Since part of the 'proper screening' is a check of photo ID and boarding pass, obviously the moran in the article is full of shiat.

FTFA: "It appears right now through the tapes we reviewed that he sort of snuggles up to a family or another individual and kind of slithers on by."

I'm going to say that Semaj probably wouldn't blend in with my family.

The rules are already too tight. All the 9/11 hijackers followed the rules, even some of the hijackers were given secondary searches.

The thing here is that this kid, again, got past the TSA. Not only did he get by them, but he circumvented an already stupid rule that has nothing to do with airport security.

Kudos to the submitter who called it right -- "security."
