If you're going to dial 911 fifteen times for a cab, I'd think a black and white cab would come and pick you up at no charge.

/The destination wouldn't be your choice, however

It is nubianrdly not to have enough money to pay the cab fare.

I've had to call 911 about 10 times in my life. 9 of them were for reporting a car accident (6 of which were on my street because we lived at a 90 degree turn and even though the speed limit was posted, people tried to drift through the turn because the arms of it were straightaways and they always crashed...once a cop car crashed doing it)

anyway, the other time was when I had just gotten my 1st car. my favorite band had a free concert in the bronx (fordham univ) so I decided to drive out there. when it was over, it was like 2 am and I got lost. and I was in a pretty bad area and called 311 for directions which didn't help and then 911. they said to not call for non emergencies and hung up.

I've called 911 exactly once.

I came home and noticed that my neighbor's apartment door was ajar and the wood around the lock was all splintered so I called 911. Turns out he had left his door open by accident and the wood had been splintered like that for years. It was fun to watch the cops go in and wake him up and demand ID, though. (It was an honest mistake.)

Hey I've seen those "cabs" around town, they're pretty sweet with the lights and sirens they put on them. Could use better rim though. At least the ones in Toledo, OH are Chargers now, thats one bad arse looking police car...er "cab".

I have called 911 several times, all in pretty scary situations.

1) When I was 19 and ATV riding in the middle of nowhere I found a guy who had gone offroading on a motorcycle and crashed, breaking his face and leg. I had to drive to a house to get a phone -- the person home was blind and incapable of giving directions -- I drove out to the main road and had the ambulance follow me in.

2) My neighbor's house was on fire 2 months ago and I was the first to notice. I called 911, then knocked on his door to let him know. Only superficial damage to the outside and toasted bushes.

3) 2 weeks ago I was driving at 2 am in Atlanta and the guy in front of me didn't turn left when the light was green. When I honked and got no response, I noticed he was slumped, asleep. Called the cops to haul his DUI butt to jail since it was not a nice neighborhood.

4) I was at a New Years party with some friends and the owner of the house left for a while. Some drunk guy passed out on the couch after puking and a girl sat on the couch by him. Ex-boyfriend of said girl shows at party and thinks she's cheating on him with this guy who is passed out and curled up next to her. He breaks a CHAMPAGNE bottle on the guy's face. The house was nearly destroyed in the ensuing fight -- stove tipped over, banisters broken, blood on walls. That warranted a 911 call. Despite this, papers reported the next morning that is was one of the calmest new years ever, with no arrests in Boston. I guess Cambridge is not included as part of Boston.

5) A guy in a car in front of me was annoyed by motorcycles passing him in the breakdown lane, so he resorted to faking like he was going to turn suddenly, running them off the road. He was arrested.

6) Others are less noteworthy. Better safe than sorry...don't abuse 911, but definitely use it rather than assuming someone else will.

Over 90% of my most cold-blooded murders in GTAIV are when Roman's cab isn't available, can't find a yellow cab, and don't feel like driving.

I can't be responsible for the lives of NPCs near Niko when I've been waiting for any longer than 3 minutes.

As far as 911, never called it, but I did use a nonemergency number for local PD to report vandalism after the fact. That's the extent of my contact with law enforcement outside traffic stops and DARE.
