While international celebrity magazines still focus on the royal family descended from Grace Kelly, Albert has tried to put Monaco on the map with environmental measures.

quick question, could you theoretically annex the ocean? Are there any laws about annexing international waters?

Blimey - the ocean is about 600 miles away.

Still they could start with the Med, except that's only a sea.

I can hear it now:

"My loyal and esteemed subjects, who have purchased and developed what little valuable waterfront property our great nation has to offer, I am about to depreciate your investments and ruin your formerly scenic view of the sea. Suck it."

As long as they don't alter Loews hairpin, Rascasse, Ste. Devote, the swimming pool complex and the exit from the tunnel, I don't really care.

Oh yeah, and the run through Casino. Don't mess with that bit, either.

I didn't see anything about the ocean in TFA, just a Dubai-style offshore development. And doesn't Monaco back on to the Mediterranean Sea?

As long as they put in a passing place for the GP I'll be happy.

Monaco (Answering telephone): Hello, Monaco here.

Would Be Prankster: Yeah, hehheh, hello. Say.. do you have Prince Albert in a can?

Monaco: Hmm, well sure we're running a little short on space here, but I don't think I'd say he's in a 'can'. In fact that fine gentleman just recently decided to increase our country's land area. So...not in a can really. But if we did say that, then we've "popped the top" so to speak...

Zero.

I think the dipshiat who wrote the article was trying to say they'd achieve 10% of the typical energy consumption. There's a reason people who write for a living aren't awarded mathematics degrees.

FTFA: While international celebrity magazines still focus on the royal family descended from Grace Kelly...

This line has borderline fail syndrome. I know I'm picking at semantics, but the Grimaldis as a whole aren't descended from her, she married into it. There were princes of Monaco long before the world heard of Grace Kelly. Also, there is more to the current Monegasque princely family (not 'royal family') than Albert and his sisters, although you'd never believe it judging by the press.

As a further aside, for you guys needing some eye therapy, google Charlotte Casiraghi. For the ladies, there's Andrea and Pierre, her brothers. Caroline's kids are drop dead gorgeous.

I've been to Monaco, the place was so small we went to France by rail for lunch. Took a Mercedes taxi back in time to catch our boat. Most beautiful coastline in the world there.
