Isn't he the one that spent a week talking about McCain filling Bush's Third Term?

Really, even if he was only attacking McCain's ideas (and there's enough there) I could respect him for doing this, but he's just as bad and just is whining because it's being turned on him. I've lost a lot of respect for him since he started buying into the hype as the next Kennedy.

If you're going to dish it, you're a dumbass if you don't think it's coming back at you.

If the Obama campaign is the first thing in your lives that makes you proud to be an American, then you must have had your eyes closed for the last 20+ years.

Nah, I can't imagine where that misconception comes from. Maybe he's just bitter and disillusioned. Only a matter of time before he joins a shooting range.

McCain is old. Refute that.

I can't. Dude is so old that he shiats dust. Dude is so old that when he first got elected to the Senate, there were only ten laws and they were written on two stone tablets. Guy is so old his blood type is "Metamucil."

Tsk, tsk. This thread will go to hundreds of comments; and what are we discussing? Nothing. We're gossiping about people.

Last night we get a substantive thread about real issues surrounding health care policy and it ends up being a conversation between three people.

Fark all of you and your pathetic obsession with stupid-ass side stories. You're as bad as soccer moms and their addiction to celebrity trash magazines at the farking grocery store.

Grow up.

KaponoFor3: Just so you know, similar arguments were made in the past to justify refusing to allow blacks and women to vote.

I'm well aware of that. But the reasons were disguised racism. It was racism veiled as an "educational requirement." It was considered wrong because they didn't have access to education. Now they do. So an educational requirement isn't such a bad idea anymore, especially when you hear "HE"S AN APPEASER, HE'S A NAZI APPEASER" and no facts to back it up. Stupid backwoods toothless crackers have access to education, they just choose to be stupid now.

I'm pretty tired of having a majority of retards choose my country's leadership. An educated man or a successful wealthy man is now negatively labeled as an "elitist" and so has a hard time getting elected, yet a man who says "I don't know shiat about the economy" has the support of people most hurt by our current economic crisis. When did we start wanting our next door neighbor to run the country?

/in any event I was joking
//still not a bad idea, given recent history

The Anti-Obama sentiment is mounting.

Cynthia Ruccia, 55, a sales director for Mary Kay cosmetics in Columbus, Ohio, is organizing a group, Clinton Supporters Count Too, of mostly women in swing states who plan to campaign against Mr. Obama in November. "We, the most loyal constituency, are being told to sit down, shut up and get to the back of the bus," she said.

Be smart Dems. Don't nominate Obama. He can't win. Hillary could BARELY win, maybe. But Obama is unelectable.

GaryPDX: dgc360:
I'll go along with that to some degree. But we're talking a government window for every want or need now. Up here in Oregon, there's a "purge" going on with Republican public officials in the rural areas. 150+ resignations so far, 97 communities and 6 counties are in freeze mode because these folks are resigning out of protest for the "Inquisition" coming from "Liberal" Salem. It's not funny anymore.

bulldg4life: It's the same 5 people in every thread. Every time. They rail on whatever the daily "hate obama" mantra is and go to town on all the people that laugh and criticize the current day's stupid attack point.

And it's the same five people who are continually implying that they don't have a horse in this race or take Fark all that seriously. Fark is just a silly website whose mascot is a "squirrel with big nuts."

That's why they have to spend six hours of their day railing against Obama on Fark. Because, you know, it's all just meaningless banter that doesn't interest them.

And your reasons wanting to prevent "the stupid backwoods toothless crackers" isn't racism?

WaltzingMathilda: Stupid backwoods toothless crackers have access to education, they just choose to be stupid now.

So I'm assuming you'd think the same thing about every inner city kid who joins a gang, right? They had the access to education, they just choose to be stupid, no?

gtraz: Michelle had to go out on the trail because Hillary had Bill out their giving speeches. Clinton's campaign could literally be in 2 places at 1 time so Obama had to use his wife too. I would expect to see her campaigning get cut drastically once the nomination is sewn up.

It doesn't matter. If he's running for president, she will be attacked. Its as simple as that.

That 'article', such as it is, was a pint of failure in a half pint jar. But if Obama really thinks he can just declare his wife off limits, he's in for a nasty surprise.

KaponoFor3: As for the tunnel vision? I think both are pretty similar -- they think that their candidate and only their candidate can save this country. Both are fervent at shouting down anyone who voices any sort of disapproval or criticism of their man.

That's not true. Many of the Democratic candidates could have done a good job fixing the country. Huckabee might have done a good job, too (provided he resisted his urges to blow up the wall between church and state). Romney was, is, and most likely will always be a giant sack of crap. Giuliani would have made every day 9/11 Memorial Day. McCain is clueless.

OMG, a bunch of old white women are going to campaign against Obama!!!

Just because you read one or two comments on the internet about people voting for McCain if they don't pick Hillary doesn't mean it's going to happen. The guy is drawing between 15 and apparently 75k at rallies. He's electable. It's just that more people than ever are going to vote, just like the last 2 elections, making the traditional base voters less relevant than they used to be. Sorry, but college students and minorities just aren't too lazy to vote anymore.

Just because you keep calling yourself that doesn't make it true.

In fairness, I am an old-school Goldwater-style conservative, and I have never much cared for the neoconservative cabal that overran the GOP with Dubya's ascendancy. It's certainly done more harm to the GOP, and more importantly, the country, than any good it has brought.

wolvernova: If the senator doesn't want people criticizing his wife, then maybe he should reign her in and stop her from making jackass speeches for his campaign. Bill Clinton was heavily criticized for his stupid remarks during the campaign. I don't remember Obama telling anybody that he was off limits.

I remember when Bill Clinton was personally attacking Obama and Obama responding in kind. I don't remember Michelle Obama attacking Hillary Clinton like that.

Go change yourself.

I can't farking believe I am about to say this:

I respect the people who are voting for Hillary Clinton.

They seem to be actual free-thinkers, for Democrats, that is.

They see the cult of personality in a suit and they don't jump on the bandwagon, that's very rare in that party.

What a strange political year this has been.

Nope. We used the word "stupid" from the beginning. You can take out the cracker part if you want.

So I'm assuming you'd think the same thing about every inner city kid who joins a gang, right? They had the access to education, they just choose to be stupid, no?

Stupid = uninformed = why the fark are they voting? See response above for more information. Yes, I feel the same way. Joining a gang may be worse than being a Nascar fan.

Alright, fair game. But it really didn't sound a whole lot like joking, and I think you know you probably went a little too far.

Meh. I don't think I did. Like I said, I'm sick of retards choosing our leadership. I'm also sick of people thinking it's the governments job to legislate social issues like gay marriage, especially when they LITERALLY LIVE IN THE WOODS. Those are the people who go too far, my friend. It's ok for Indiana to not allow you to vote if you don't have a state issued photo ID. While you don't need an education for that, similar people will be 'disenfranchised' as through an education requirement. You should be screaming about that.

If you could find a way to do something other than parrot silly 4 line statements about Obama koolaid or "ObamaTrain" or any other cultish thing you can think of...it might do good.

When you can't discuss issues and you can only attack the other person, it doesn't help your "independent" stance no matter how much you yell and stomp your feet.

That just looks like proof that some Christian denominations really love enormous, arguably garish crosses. Still, I get the misconception, because it happens exactly 100% of the time anyone in politics is strikingly popular for some reason.

This is presidential politics Betty, better toughen up quite a bit because it will get harder. If you don't want your wife called out on what she has to say, then she shouldn't say anything, nobody gets a free pass who dares to open their mouth in this game.

The policy is being taken to task, if you back that policy that others feel is poor, idealistic or just plain wrong you have a right to defend it, strap on a pair and defend it.

Your sudden "rise to power" is because of what? Because you aren't someone else? Most people aren't, tell us why you're so special, tell us some of your concrete ideas and why they maybe better than "someone else", do more than say it will be a change.

Your shady friends and associates? You made that bed, man up and sleep in the wet spot. Its too late to change the past.
