(Some Guy)   Couple want to get married at a QuickTrip because "they have pretty landscaping". QuickTrip supports their plans, but asks that guests carpool because they still need the space for their paying customers   (generalblather.blogspot.com) divider line 89

Is it sad that I noticed the $1.45 gas before I noticed the name of the store in Tabatha Static's picture?

1. It's QuikTrip, not QuickTrip.

2. Getting married at a QT is just a little less redneck than getting married at WalMart would be. But not much.

Heh - that must be an old pic. Surprisingly there is a Pump and Munch within a mile of my house. I smirk every time I see that store.

And QT does have nice landscaping - I live in Phx and the last time I saw a bunny it was in the landscaping outside of a QT...

In Palm Bay, FL, I often shopped at a convenience store called Smoker's Choice. THe sign had a cornucopia of junk food. I smiled every time I saw it.

Okay, I live in Tulsa, the hub of all QuickTrips. I hate Tulsa, I really do. Nothing here is very good and it smells with mediocrity. But I am damn proud of our gas stations. When you go to a QuickTrip, you'll never want to go to any other gas station again. They have deli-quality sandwiches and other foods made fresh everyday. They're nice, professional and no-bullshiat. If you ever happen to see a QuickTrip, go reward yourself.

QuikTrip is based in my hometown of Tulsa. I won't move to a new house/apartment unless there's a QT nearby. Nearly flawless as convenience stores go.

Still though, getting married at one? Srsly?

I'm sure they's plenty of parking at the trailer park.

I used to live in Tulsa and I miss the QTs. It's almost always one of my first stops after leaving the airport when I go back for visits. Right after Sonic. Damn. Now I really want a cherry limeade. :(

Really, I live in Phoenix and I cant go an hour outside without seeing a bunch of rabbits. You must live in a shiatty spot. Mexicans like to eat rabbits.

And then there is the opposite of the Quicktrip. There is the Circle K and/or the Am/PM.

Dear god, if you find one of these places looking for a building permit in your neighborhood, RUN! It is only a matter of time before countless bums and crack-whores show up. You'll be able to tell who they are because of their 89oz soda jugs that they carry around with them.

I'm serious too....i don't care where you live (i've seen it in North Scottsdale/Paradise valley, some of the nicest areas on phoenix) the crackbums migrate to the circle K and I have no idea why.

Lived two blocks from one for awhile. Was nice to be able to take a short walk and get a sixer of good beer if the liquor store or grocery store that were farther away were closed.

And I agree with the previous post. Circle K's and AM/PM's suck.
The reason the QuikTrips are so nice I think is because so many cops go there on shift changes. And I think that's because the place has good coffee; you're lucky to get a half-burnt pot of decaf at any other convenience store here in the Valley. The degenerates and petty criminals see all the cops and take off.

From the comments at the end of the blog: "I'm not sure which QT you mean, but if it's the one at 119th, then I used to regularly go there to "get a Diet Coke" (i.e. take a sh*t) on the weekend mornings I was staying at my then-boyfriend's apartment up the street. Ah, memories!"

I'm confused. Are the restrooms at the QT so good that you would leave the apartment just to go make a poopie??

I bet they could use the "formal" wear shop near where I live to get the groom's tux. They advertise on the radio all the time, proudly proclaiming that you can get one in a RealTree pattern.

If you wear a RealTree tux to your wedding, the minister/judge/JP, should immediately tear up your license, and you should be force sterilized so you can't breed more idiots. The same thing goes for getting married at a gas station.

As for the people touting the supremacy of QickTrip, you have obviously never been to a Sheetz (new window). Best Convenience Store Ever.

Sheetz is awesome! I travel for work and Sheetz is by far the best convenience chain east of the Miss.

Umm, before you start sounding too superior about "flyover country", you might want to check this out:

Couple in Rhode Island married in doughnut shop (new window)

Rhode Island isn't exactly "flyover country"
