Because celebrities (and others who don't want to be bothered) block their phone numbers so that they cannot be traced by Caller ID. Duh...

Asking for a phone number is standard procedure for 911.

I work for 911 and the operator must always verify the phone number and the address because they may not always be right and with cell phones it gets even worse because the addess of the cell tower shows up not the callers.

I hate when people refuse to answer questions...

I'm just disappointed that he wasn't inside the diner stomping this guys ass instead he was outside on the phone calling for the police. Only pussy's call 911. Get in there and get a chair or plate or fork or something and put a beating on that little motherfarker.
