So size 13 feet can't drive Volvos?

Cripes.. hell, I got 14 EEEEs and I do admit that on certain cars, I sometimes catch the break with the inside edge of my shoe. But I never considered that I could get money because of it...

Wow... Germans think of EVERYTHING

The Lexus ls250 is the same, my size 13s don't fit well down there, both height and width wise. It took a few screeching burnouts before I got the hang of it.

Size 15 here as well. But I'm also 6'6", so it's all proportional. Any word on if I can sue for legroom too?

/Next step: Sue airlines and amusement parks, and anyone with low ceilings

Don't brag about the diamond rings
or the expensive clothes you wear,
'cause I could care less for what you possess
and your attitude needs repair.
Don't brag about your body, baby,
and say that you're packin' a lot,
'cause all I see besides your big feet
is that you got big socks

I usually have the same problem depending on my footwear. I wear work boots most of the time, and my feet seem to be just about the right size to not fit between the brake and the carpeted wall next to the gas. Especially when I have my Doc Martins on. I still have the problem with all of my other shoes, but the docs have it worst.

This is modern cars, my Tiburon and my Millenia had this issue, as well as some rentals that I used. All my older vehicles, including the Celica, were fine.

BTW, I'm only an American Size 12.

That's crazy. I'm 6'5" tall, and somewhat disproportionate (all legs), with size 15 feet. I will never be able to drive a sports car, and there is no production passenger car that I can drive comfortably, limiting me to larger vehicles. I wish someone would pick up the tab.

I recently test drove a Volvo S60. I wasn't actually looking for a Volvo, but I'd never driven one before so I thought I'd give it a spin while I had the chance. I have size 12 feet, and my toes hit the underside of the dash. Although the car was OK otherwise, this was the dealbreaker. I've never had that problem in any other car I've driven.

2008-05-08 10:50:41 AM
Ok...I have size 13 shoes and wore then when driving a friends Volvo C70. I guess the European versions have smaller gas peddles.

Same here.

Also, I am very fat. Can I sue Chevrolet because my rotund ass is pretty cramped in some of their smaller cars?

Entire article:
A driver in Germany has been paid compensation by Volvo after he found his feet were too big to drive one of their cars.

Michael Herzog, from Weisloch, received £1,350 for a pair of special shoes and a discount on his C70 coupé because he could not push its accelerator pedal in his size 12s.

That was a complete waste of time.

2008-05-08 11:01:01 AM
Lamune_Baba I was thinking the same thing. but you beat me to it.

// your pedal extremities really are obnoxious. //

whenever I got a new pair of shoes my grandpa would ask me "what aircraft carrier did you put out of commission this time?"
he didn't expect me to answer him, but I did once. "USS Intrepid, sir" and he never asked again.

Hows that?

Does this mean little old ladies all over Germany can sue because they can't see over the steering wheel?

shadowself: Saab... Volvo... I predict an ugly car trifecta!

Just...stop. The new Volvos and saabs are good looking. Old Volvos, sure, I'll give that to you.

And I drive an S40 (four door hard top version of the C70) with my american size 13 shoes. I've certainly never had enough difficulty with getting my feet to the pedal to try this!

Hmmmm, I wonder if I can get compensation from Trojan?

2008-05-08 11:09:56 AM
why? didn't he test drive the vehicle first?

Next thing you know they'll be compensating fat asses for being uncomfortable in the seats.

No, I think they make extra smalls.
