HAHA!

Yeah, that's what it pretty much sounds like!

That's pretty good. Too bad you missed all the Scientology stuff.

When I was growing up in the 70's our whole family would yell "I SAW THE CAT!" when the MTM kitty did its thing.

My, the long winter evenings must have simply flown by.

Best theme song ever. The closing one, I mean, not the opener.

Now it all makes sense...

Cool. Although damn you for making me miss that show in its original glory.

That made me curious. From Wiki:

The closing theme, "WKRP In Cincinnati End Credits", was a hard rock number composed and performed by Jim Ellis, an Atlanta musician who recorded some of the incidental music for the show. According to people who attended the recording sessions, Ellis didn't yet have lyrics for the closing theme, so he sang nonsense words to give an idea of how it would sound. Wilson decided it would be funny to use lyrics that were deliberately gibberish, as a satire on the incomprehensibility of many rock songs.[7] Also, since CBS always had an announcer talking over the closing credits, Wilson knew that no one would actually hear the closing theme lyrics anyway.

The WKRP end theme lyrics

Said to the bartender "Best night I ever had"
Singin' to the bar
Had a microphone in(to) her heart

I said -
Goodbye madam
I'd had a bird in hand

I said - I'm doing good
And put love in her heart

Jan Smithers,,Nummm, drool.
Producer hired her for the show sight unseen(sorta not) because he had seen a shot of her ass on a scooter. Wish I had a copy of her butt sticking out of those shorts in that frame.
Hmm. might have been Time magazine.

Boy Wonder, look that up!

Uh, that was not a word allowed too much on TV at the time. The black DJ was Venus Flytrap.

/Somehow I feel you knew this.
//Used to live in Ohio, they had a station WKRQ in Cincinatti, the DLs claimed the show was based on them, not true.

One of the DJ's, I believe Johnny, was based on an actual Cincinnati DJ. But not Jim Scott. Nor (surprisingly) Curt Gary.

There is/was also a WKRC.
