I'm surprised that so many people still get hangovers in 2008. I use Chaser and never get a hangover on it.

Oh give me a break. That's as big a joke as Head ON! Apply Directly to the Forehead!

Chaser is a joke.

Just in case I didn't make my point in the previous posting...

...if you think Chaser cures hangovers, you know absolutely nothing about drinking.

To seriously cure a hangover, you only need to struggle to consciousness long enough to remember the Three G's:

1)Gatorade.

2)Goody's Headache Powder.

3)Ganja.

That, my serious drinking friends, is the only hope for your day.

"Chaser?" Bwahhaahahhaa!!

Why does no one question these studies?

I phoned up every employer and employee alive and got a completely different number.

It's just like when they said a 'study shows' that people who sing live 15 years longer. What?

How do they measure these things? Keep identical twins in separate rooms with the exact same routine, only one is singing, and wait until they die? And is it 15 years per song or do you just have to keep on bellowing on your death bed?

You won't win anything, you know. All you get is a badge in heaven saying you missed out on a lot.

except that this doesnt have to do with living longer or health or any of that- which i agree is impossible to truely prove.

this is survey data. the data is from just asking people:
have you been hungover at work?
yes.
have you been drunk at work?
yes.

its not andything more than that.

My friend, you clearly know your stuff. I never tried the Goody's but the other two steps have been my standbys, as well as a product called liquid oxygen that I mix in my Gatorade, seems to help as well.

eddyatwork: I'm surprised it's this low.

This. I have a hangover 2-3 times a week.

I probably manage a couple of times a month when I'm still drunk when I get to work.

/Doesn't drive to work

Bah. I used to work with a guy who was such a professional drunk his two DUIs were from the mornings AFTER a night of drinking. Both on a Tuesday morning. His solution? He quit driving to work on Tuesdays. Drunk logic FTW!

9 in 10 employees are liars. If you ever had 2 or 3 beers at lunch or got to bed at 4 in morning totally wasted before starting your work day at 8 then you were drunk at work, even if very lightly in the first case.

Hangover prevention/relief: drink lots of water; hangovers are mostly caused by dehydration.

Marketing aside, in the most technical sense, it isn't a cure. It's a preventative measure. If you are taking chaser throughout the night, and drinking water--which is a wise thing to always do, a hangover should be unlikely for most people. Chaser is one of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind.

I think it is very important to note that
YOU SHOULD NEVER MIX TYLENOL WITH ALCOHOL.

Tylenol(Acetaminophen) breaks down into metabolites that are LIVER TOXIC. If your liver is busy with say...alcohol. You can seriously damage your liver.

Do not use tylenol for hangovers!

2008-05-07 07:29:57 AM
NO WAY would I go to work hungover, because I work with special ed preschoolers.

Can you even imagine that headache?

I have a few friends who swear by that stuff, but I've found it gives me horrendous gas. However, you do get the advantage of burping minty goodness all day long.

I think they are capsules with peppermint oil or something in them. If you swallow about 30 of them your sweat will start to smell like peppermint. You'll also have the trots for the entire day.

QFT, especially for the hard stuff. I used to think tequila gave me wicked hangovers, until I discovered that it was only cheap tequila.

Most of the effects of a hangover come from dehydration. Drink lots of water.

You can't. You can't get it with Tylenol OTC either.
I believe codeine is a schedule III narcotic.

2 solutrions if you live in the UK:
1. drink at Samuel Smith's pubs their sovereign best bitter has never given me a headache and costs about £1.70 a pint.
2. get a friend in the States to bring you Advil gel caps when they visit.

I'm not sure if it has tylenol in it or not, but you can get codeine without a scrip in Canada.

nashBridges: Thirded. Same thing with Ibuprofen. Aspirin or nothing.

Er, Ibuprofen is an NSAID, same as Aspirin. Ibuprofen can muck with liver enzymes in some individuals - however, so can Aspirin. Keep your dosage low, as the likelihood of liver issues increases with greater dosages.

Acetaminophen isn't an NSAID, which is why different rules apply to it.

Because being hungover is a symptom of alcohol withdrawal, the only cure is to drink a beer in the morning. Hair of the dog, my friends... hair of the dog. It works (I heard).
