It doesn't matter. Javier Bardem's *still* going to uphold his Oscar dominance.

Shouldn't Bullock be a little past the point of wanting a "bad boy" type like Jesse James? Seriously, can you imagine any male star of her stature hooking up with some passed around, over the hill former porn star or something? (James has been married to porners in the past, I can't imagine wanting that as sloppy seconds, thirds and fourths, when she could have her pick of classy guys.)

Oh well, her career's pretty much over anyway but damn I would still be worried about what kind of nasties that guy could drag home.

As a full blown alcohol abuser (binge), I'll never understand why people drive drunk. I just can't grasp the stupidity it takes when the consequences, not just the legal ones, are so well-known.

Unless you are a direct blood descendant of the famous western character Jesse James, anyone with the last name of "James" who names their child "Jesse" should be shot.

Jesse James is a blood descendent of the outlaw. And his lifestyle is pretty outlaw in and of itself.

If that is correct, then fine. Wikipedia did not mention it, and that is all the research that a Fark comment rates.

It was a reference to Javier Bardem's Oscar win over Casey Affleck, who was nominated for playing Robert Ford.

The more you drink, the more your higher brain functions are shut down by the alcohol's sedative properties. Basically, you become stupider. If you weren't too smart at the beginning of your evening, you're a whole lot dumber by the time the bars begin to close.

/Alcohol abusers should know this already.

Farkers don't really thinks she had anything to do with this. We just want to sit in a room with her and talk, maybe buy her a meal and who knows where it could go from there.

Recent studies have shown that this might not be the case. They have shown that drunks can control their behavior with the right motivation. It sure does explain the difference between those who misbehave when drunk and those of us who behave properly.

Conclusions: Positive reinforcement for behavior under alcohol increases the influence of controlled processes. These results suggest that the degree to which intentional control is retained under alcohol depends on the consequence of behavior in the situation. It seems that controlled processes enable drinkers to intentionally display the behavior that is rewarded.

ScullyToo we've got descendants of the Clantons/McLaurys 'round here as well as descendants of the Earps...all the C/McL are respected professionals, the Earps not so much-probably the most prominent ones are 2 brothers who host a talkshow on an all-sports station in Victorville

you'll get over it;

Jesse James of West Coast is not a descendant of Jesse the outlaw. Jesse James had one son and a daughter. The son, Jesse, Jr. became a lawyer and married, but only had 4 daughters. (So none of them would have passed on the James name, under the convention of the time, nor would Jesse, Sr's daughter, who was Jr's sister.)

Now, perhaps he was a descendant from another part of the James family, but he is not a lineal descendant.

I always like to tell this story, when I was a kid my dad was friends with an old retired minister. (My dad knew the guy from when he was a kid.) One time, he came by the house and was visiting and said to me before he left: "I want to shake your hand, because when I was a kid I shook Frank James hand and one day you'll be able to say that you shook hands with a man who had shaken hands with Frank James." It turned out that his dad had rented a farm and cabin to Frank during the last 10 years or so of his life.

+1 for the headline.

For the record, Jesse James Hollywood has pretty well ruined the "Jesse James" monicker for anyone in California. IMO.

But what about the other Jesse James (would link to her, but nothing she's done is remotely NSFW).

were being driven in a sport-utility vehicle Friday night

Well of course. Because if it had been on one of those useless overpriced choppers there would be no way in hell it could have manuvered its over extended extra wide ass out of the way in time either. With the "outlaw" riding a bike and it being a chopper, neither of them would have had on helmets.

Would be a whole different headline.

Well that's what they get for being driven by a trained monkey. No seriously, the article didn't even mention the driver, as though he/she isn't human.

Gloucester, a nice drinking town with a fishing problem.

Gloucester Island and Russians? Great movie.

it happened in GLoucester? WTF?

Dang - SB has been filming in Boston lately. Surprisingly beautiful in person / up close. As in, prettier than you'd already have thought she was-type thing.

Seemed bubbly and nice too. That sux for them. Hope they're ok. Dear Hollywood:

if you're going to film in Boston / surrounding areas please do not allow your famous people to drive themselves around. It confuses our drunks and causes problems like these.

Maybe the Discovery Channel or TLC or whomever it was got tired of how much they had to kiss his ass on that thing? Talk about surrounding oneself with Yes Men.

The fact that she married this POS goes to show that she wasn't as smart as I/we would like to credit her with being.

And you know what? I bet they stay married for a few more years and eventually he divorces her for another porn star cuz once you've gone a** to mouth....

I get the feeling that JJ is a nice guy, and that comments like this show that the person making them is a bit of an elitist prick. He is a well to do, very talented blue collar worker, and the two of them must have some "secret" since they have been married 3 years and seem to be doing well.

Its almost like people are jealous of him....
