This is a big story here in Hoboken. It sucks because that field is used heavily. You can't beat the view.

I feel bad because I started the most recent round of this with the headline about wine and beer samples in grocery stores.

These fields need to be reserved for the heavy games.

//Or maybe for games of Follow the Leader

Man up, Nancy. It's a naturally-occurring substance and we're not all dead, so we can probably conclude that there is _some_ safe level (even if it turns out to be lower than what we've all been exposed to thanks to those decades of leaded gasoline).

geez.. are people so optimistic that they think asking people to stop using a popular cliché on a comments web site is going to get them to stop?

go to a different site, if your mastery of human persuasion is sucking so mightily.

Fark you, I came here to say that.

The chromate part of the pigment is no biological walk-in-the-park neither. Casting lead, provided proper precautions are taken, shouldn't be a significant risk. Playing w/ guns. . .

I was out for a walk a few months ago, and as I approached this house I thought "Wow, what an insanely well-manicured lawn. And it's so GREEN. They must bathe it in Chem-Lawn."

And then when I got up to the yard. OMG. Astro turf. Everywhere.

Sheesh.

Blech.

H31N0US: This is a big story here in Hoboken. It sucks because that field is used heavily. You can't beat the view.

I've been told that the field here at Stevens Tech was of the same turf until last year when they replaced it. It was weird looking at the Sinatra Park field and not seeing people playing on it.

superoogie: Ah, I saw that headline and just knew it was going to mention Hoboken.

/Hoboken: We can't even get a goddamn park right.

There's a whole friggin' parking garage underneath the new Babbio center that us students can't even park in. Plus, about a third of the Stevens Parking lot on Sinatra Drive fell into the Hudson River. I'm a commuter and there's no where to park. The damn campus police still give out tickets, when there's over 100 spaces that no one is allowed to park at Babbio. Is there some political BS going on as the reason why no one can park under there?

But think of the children! Nancy up, man. ;-)

I'm going to stick with my estimation that there are no safe levels.

You get more lead from eating one normal banana than playing on these fields 24 hours a day for 600 years.
